There was an elephant, Pak Bahadฤฑr, who was synonymous with the city of ฤฐzmir and is no longer alive. The city loved him so much that they erected a statue in his honor.
But, what I remember is this:
The poor animal was confined to a half-acre enclosure (around the year 1980s). He was alone. Sometimes he would repeatedly attack the door of his cage with his head, trying to escape from people and get back into the area where he slept. The sounds were terrifying. But the city adored him.
No creature would be protected via stolen their freedom.
Cat cold is not something that will go away with soup. This is an unbelievable type of cold. It's highly contagious and lasts a long time. It drives you crazy. ๐
We're not perfect, but our people are compassionate. The people of Anatolia are unparalleled in the world. In the past, there were people whose job was to feed stray animals. It was a profession. Now, as I said, the municipalities have stepped in.
First of all, I want to state that I am annoyed by the Arabs, Armenians, and Greeks who, after ruling them for about 400 years in peace, became hostile to the Turks at the same time due to the instigation of the British and French. Please, my friends here, don't take this as offense. I love you all.
Even worse is the fact that the world considers us Arabs simply because we are Muslim. I hope you realize that this is not the case.
As for the issue you mentioned, the whole world is dealing with similar problems. Qatar's is a bit more intense. The state exists for these things. If the problem is big, it should get involved and help both economically and technically. In Tรผrkiye, all municipalities have veterinary units and animal shelters. Since the public also has an excessive amount of love for stray animals, the problems are overcome. The most important contribution comes from the municipalities.
If it's a stray cat, it absolutely must be spayed or neutered. In fact, every cat kept at home should be spayed or neutered. The math is simple: 18 kittens a year, that's 180 kittens in 10 years. It's a hardship for the animal too.
This is a fantastic post, like a documentary. I learned that we can eat crocodile leather bags. ๐
