Not a related Bitcoin book but I suggest this as a great description on how Europe went rotten from the first world war. Written by one of the greatest european authors of '900 :

Q. is an amazing book, i live in the same country of WuMing collective.
In reality they are a group of academics with great skills in history ( book is a wonderful picture of the historicals periods represented in it ). As bitcoiner the second part where banking system is described is really amazing, but consider also that wuming guys are extremely leftist, really near to communist ideals. Not considering this and taking this book for what it is, I think it's one of the best narrative operas of the last 20 years.
Agree 100%, i am in Italy and is becoming a Disneyland for rich guys. Life for normal people is getting quickly not economically sustainable, in a few years all manufactoring industry will be be wiped out by Asia and other countries. We will live with the "fuckin" italian style brand...but touristic countries never attract talents or innovators. Competences will decline faster than many suppose.
We are few workin on it, but we are a great team believe me!
If you like what we we are doing come with us on https://t.me/mostro_dev and show some love.
Get ready for newcomings anyway! Mostro web will be updated soon, and mobile will come!
Show us some love!
Betamax also lost against VHS because Sony they refused to have porn material on their support.
Not the only motivation, but had an impact in the end.
Piracy and porn are the engine for diffusion, Bram Cohen said the same for bittorrent protocol.
Could be that mostro sometimes is down because we are debugging daemon.
Consider that we are just setting order with sats between 100 and 20k sats, using yadio as exchange rate service for not fixed price order.
As mostro dev I suggest to everyone who find bugs or has some ideas to improve the interface via web to.drop a comment om github here:
https://github.com/MostroP2P
and if other devs are joining we love evrybody.
Daemon codebase is rust and vue for web, we'd love to have web, rust and mobile devs and designer onboard.to create the nicest lightning Mostro in the planet!

That's exactly this. No other points. The 95% of people using windows in these stase doesn't even now what is an OS, they think that windows is what makes a pc work.
If Linux had a more aggressive politic for pc commercial produceer maybe the numbers could be different.
This is proved also by the other point: embedded device and servers are basically monopolized by Linux.
Why?
Simple because doing fw and sw for embedded and servers is a pro thing, not for the normie. Devs and pro know much more of open source sw than normal people and they weight the right tools for develop, linux here has always won. Look the windows CE for embedded or Lumia of M$.
I remeber another kind of marketing with producer, whatsapp...many other similar products come before. On smartphone I remember Viber, but whatsapp was preinstalled and smartphone are for normies, not for curious users. They just use what they buy as it is. Touch it and you broke it.
I am still fighting with my 65 aunt, who has a laptop with, drum roll, windows 8 and pc is completely stuck after many years of use. I tried to convince her to use a Linux os and she is worried that won't work anymore! This is reality and you have to adapt to this kind of irrationa behaviour...
My two cents...
As an ancient embedded dev...if the product has a "mechanic use" meaning that is not just an electronic device doing electronic things. Choose the one that cost more, but has less possible software and electronic onboard.
I just wish to have back my old audi 80 from 1989...what a car! No electronic parts, completely fixable from owner with no issue...
A pleasure and an honor to be aboard in mostro
Let's gooo!
