It is for their savings account. Periodically I sweep it to their on chain wallets.
Let’s be real, not a lot of people transact with lightning in real life.
Unglamorous trades and craftsmen will likely be in high demand:
- plumbers
- electricians
- carpenters
- masons
- mechanics
I haven't done it yet. Up until now I've been using Phoenix, and then I was using Mutiny with a fedimint.
But I'm tired of getting rug-pulled by LSPs and I want to self-host. Looking for ideas.
Same, I was in the process of moving to Mutiny when the fedimint lost control of one of their dns records. It was worrisome for a few days but I was able to recover the funds. Didn’t inspire a sense of confidence.
That is true, but for my purposes I only keep a small amount there for paying my kids. I do wonder if there’s any risk of the LSP going away or blocking US users by IP.
I was able to withdraw funds from my kids’ wallets (<30k Sats) but not my own wallet (~100k Sats)
I’ve been using Mutiny to pay my kids for doing chores.
After Phoenix bit the dust I moved to Mutiny.
Was hoping to rely on fedimints to avoid high channel fees when paying my kids a few Sats here and there.
Now on to Zeus? But we’re back to managing channels and paying channel management fees.
