Using Muun to withdraw from a CEX cheaply and without KYC links

Send the USDT to another wallet that is linked to a DEX (ShapeShift, Incognito) or go to ***SideShift.ai***

Is there any CEX that allows Lightning withdrawals? I am not aware of any. 

Do it differently:

1. Buy USDT or your other favorite dollar-pegged token with lots of liquidity on a CEX.
2. Send the USDT to your wallet.
3. Send the USDT to another wallet that is linked to a DEX (ShapeShift, Incognito) or go to SideShift.ai directly.
4. Buy Bitcoin on the DEX.

You can e.g. use a Avax bridge to bridge out btc.b to BTC (use the stablecoin on the Avalanche network and then bridge out using the Core Wallet).

As a final step, withdraw your beautiful Bitcoin to your HW wallet (Trezor, Ledger). 

Then, the CEX should not have a record of your BTC address.

(Or find a local community that trades Bitcoin peer to peer and avoid CEX altogether. Like the "Vexl" app on the App Store).

Like so many others, when I first realized AI was in a serious moment, I found it simultaneously terrifying and exhilarating. On one hand, the prospect of virtual intelligence creating abundance for humans. Enabling productivity gains, unlocking opportunities and assisting humans in reaching their potential. On the other hand, dark visions of surveillance, manipulation and AI tyranny. A world where the tools meant to elevate us instead reduce us to cognitively diminished husks. Stripped of the curiosity and critical thinking that make us human.

Faced with the starkness of these two visions I had a choice to make. Either sob violently in the corner of my dimly lit room dooming like an angsty teenager. Or take a dash of inspiration from the great men before me. The Shackletons, Wright Brothers and Borlaugs of the world. And try to shape the future I want for myself, my friends and my children. Though the former is tempting, I strapped up for what's behind Door #2.

## **Pull the Lever, Lose Your Mind**

Walk into any office, coffee shop or coworking space. You'll see the same thing. People hunched over ChatGPT looking like zombies sitting at a slot machine. Typing prompts. Copying the output. Pasting it somewhere. Typing another prompt. Over and over. Eyes glazed. No critical thought. Just pull the lever and take whatever comes out. 

That's not using AI. That's being used by it.

Every answer you accept from a black box without question is a rep you didn't do. A thought you didn't have. A muscle that got weaker. It's more distance that grew between you and the primary source material. Keep that up long enough and the curiosity, critical thinking and sense-making that make us extraordinary just atrophy. AI was supposed to elevate us. Used mindlessly, it domesticates us.

## So I Built the Opposite

The LLM text wall is a 21st century Plato's cave. You stare at it calling it insight but miss the rich details. I wanted to build something that breaks people out. Not another black box that thinks for you. A tool that makes you a better thinker. Not separated from the primary sources but

It should help you get the most out of the productivity gains without surrendering your privacy, your beliefs or your sovereignty in the process. The AI revolution is happening whether you like it or not. The question is whether it serves you or you serve it.

I chose to build for the people who refuse to be served to.

Aqua Wallet by JAN3 - Grandma Can Use It, but You Can't

Funny enough, I can talk for hours about Bitcoin but know almost nothing about how the other crypto world works with all the bridges, swaps, etc. (because Crypto is crap, right?) But unfortunately, I ended up in a situation where I had to receive USDT over Tron from my brother. Twice.

Coincidentally, I listened to the WBD podcast with Samson Mow where he talked about this Aqua wallet, how it combines the best of both worlds - non-custodial, easy to use, can receive USDT and swap to BTC, all this stuff. So, I downloaded it, generated a Tron address, received USDT, and immediately converted it to BTC. It worked like a charm.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and we had to repeat the same process again, so I just told my brother to send it over and prepared to convert it to BTC, but the notification was not popping up. I waited a bit, force-closed the wallet, opened it again, refreshed every second - the transaction was not there. So, there is a Tron blockchain explorer - I thought - so we should look there. I searched for my Tron address in the block explorer and found, to my big surprise, hundreds of transactions, different balances for different tokens - a very active Tron address. It didn't really look like the address you used once, but the latest transaction was there and it was correct.

Then I realized it's not my address after all. Aqua uses a custodian company called sideshift.ai and the address is a custodian address they temporarily use to redirect to your Aqua wallet. Quite confusing, I felt the same way you feel when somebody hands you over an Android phone when you've been using the iPhone all your life.

Expecting the worst, I opened a ticket with Jan3, but they said I needed to go directly to sideshift. Sideshift's policy on the website says the recovery of the tokens is a chargeable event with $200 USD + on-chain fee. It didn't sound very promising, but still better than nothing. So, I clicked the chat bubble and started typing.

To my great and very pleasant surprise, a guy named Mac was able to get the full amount of the original transfer directly to my Aqua wallet within 30 minutes since I opened a ticket.

So, is it a happy end? Not sure. 
Although the support was really amazing and I'm grateful for getting my funds back, probably it's still not safe to give this wallet to your grandma. 
I think people familiar with Tron and using USDT transactions via Tron on the daily basis cannot imagine that the Tron on Aqua is not working the same way as Tron on any other shitcoin wallet. Maybe another reason to make fun of bitcoin maxis, as the current sentiment that I see is that bitcoin maxis are like boomers. Totally disagree, but it is what it is. 
Do not recommend Aqua to somebody who is an active Tron user. Do not give it to your grandma (yet?). 
And do not expect that it works like bitcoin wallet, read the fine print.
