I guess if both browsers are in a crap position without financial backing it's Safari for the win...lol
I think Chrome would have a better chance though with Microsoft, Brave, Vivaldi, and others all vested in it.

The google money is 80% of their income, and that is most likely going away.. could be big trouble for them.

I'm sure it will get forked, but if its a small team, it will not be able to keep up with Chrome. It won't stand a chance without a lot of $$$ behind it. So someone big would have to take it under their wing.. Microsoft or Meta, maybe a smaller company like System76 could wing trying to have it keep up... but it will take a lot of resources.
