Interesting. Just had a play around. Don't mind the look of it. A good start at least.
As more of a normie I like the sound of nostr. But I think much like bitcoin wallets it needs someone to come up with a normie friendly client/UX that makes it intuitive to operate.
Can anyone recall the website which explains the mind boggling statistical math's behind bitcoin addresses and mining? E.g. how its practically impossible to ever guess an address
What you describe is close to what I have envisaged is a tool that I would end up using one day.
Ultimately though it would also have stablecoin functionality such that I can opt to keep a portion of my wealth in to my traditional bank account etc. Or the other way.
I have no idea if thats where you think you are going but it is what I think would be a useful tool for me.
How you make money from that I don't know though.
Stay humble and stack sats.
Help educate people about bitcoin but only if they ask.
That's it, that's all.
How do I post images here on SN? I was going to post a picture of some fertiliser getting spread on my farm back in Australia yesterday. But I can't figure out how to.
Somewhat not a bitcoin quote but should be:
"The gold standard is the best "governor" that can be devised for a world that is still human, rather than divine" – Montague Norman
I think he is able to articulate very well what bitcoin is, and why it is important.
However I disagree with his use of leverage to continue purchasing bitcoin. As I think it could end spectacularly badly, and promotes unnecessary risk taking.
The Blocksize War by Jonathan Bier I really enjoyed. Almost a historical explanation of how bitcoin is what is it today.
I also think some of the best books that led me to bitcoin weren't about it alone, but more about complexity science and the history of economics. Some include:
--> Lords of Finance - Liaquat Ahamed
--> Incerto series - Taleb
--> The Death and Life of Great American Cities - Jane Jacobs
--> Unsettling of America - Wendell Berry
--> The Timeless Way of Building - Christopher Alexander
--> The Diversity of Life - E.O. Wilson
Normies don’t have their money invested in other projects. They have it invested in other assets. Calling all other assets scams, and being very culty doesn’t help recruit more people to bitcoin imo.
We all want sound money, and have come to the conclusion that bitcoin is the best form of sound money. That’s what we should be focussing on as bitcoiners. Nothing else
Really liked the long form post by @porthodl two days ago. Makes me want to write a long form post about bitcoin and farming here.
But also makes me hope we see more long form content on here generally.
Very interesting article by respected historian Niall Ferguson. His application of a historical lense to bitcoin is fascinating.
