The Completely Noob Review Series: An Introduction
Welcome to my first series here, on SN! A series of posts where, I, a Bitcoiner with basic knowledge about how this world works, will talk about famous apps and websites to earn sats by lightning.
I will not use academic expressions or talk about really technical stuff. I'm here to talk about how a newbie can start to explore the (not always) wonderful world of Bitcoin.
Who am I?
So, as someone who really likes to keep my anonymity, I'm gonna give you just enough information for you to understand my background and how much I understand about crypto.
I've been into Bitcoin since 2015, but as a broke student, I never spent too much money on Bitcoin, I just stuck with all the free ways to get some sats and have been on and off the crypto world since then.
One of the things that really annoyed me was how I was unable to withdraw my sats from big and 'trustful' companies like Binance. And don't let me start with how much their taxes annoy me... Oh boy. And I couldn't use my money, for anything!
I know, I know, I should hodl to my sats, see them grow... And my thoughts maybe will sound too Fiat for you... But as someone who was getting started, I needed to feel like I had the power to do whatever I wanted with MY money. Or... It wouldn't feel real.
So I lost hope, uninstalled all Bitcoin-related apps, and pretended it never happened. Until... I learned about Lightning Network. And that, my friends, made me really excited about Bitcoin again. Because it makes me feel like I have power over my money, and we don't need to pay abusive taxes to have our money. And now, I feel like I want to be part of the community and make part of this economy.
Making my newbie guide
Suddenly I found a new and exciting way to reconnect with Bitcoin, everything looks awesome, but... I found myself completely in the dark, testing lots and lots of apps, websites, and wallets, losing some money... So I thought, wouldn't it be great if I could have someone to help me go around this new Lightning World? But someone who could explain things for me like I'm 5 and someone who can be trusted, and not just a ref farmer.
Never found someone like that. Maybe I didn't search long enough, or maybe I gave up before I could find it. So, if someone is feeling lost and looking for some guidance, maybe I can do it for you!
What to expect
So, I'm gonna focus on my experiences with the most famous lightning apps and websites. I'm planning on starting with ZBD and going on with Smiles, Bipa, Slice, Yzer, and others.
I'm gonna talk about how easy it is to use, how much you can really earn, the withdrawal process, the cons and pros, and if I would recommend it for newbies like me.
