I recently learned about Machankura, a tool that allows people to send and receive Bitcoin using basic phones and no internet. This is huge for places like Malawi and other parts of Africa where smartphones and constant internet access aren’t guaranteed.
You just dial a USSD code, and you have a Lightning wallet. It works like mobile money, but for Bitcoin.
In Malawi, many of us still rely on feature phones. This makes Bitcoin more accessible to everyday people, even in the villages. I think this is how we take Bitcoin adoption beyond just tech-savvy people.
If you’re a beginner or from a country with similar challenges, this might be something worth checking out.
Let me know what you think. #Bitcoin #Africa #Malawi #Machankura #LightningNetwork
Thanks for sharing this. Machankura is indeed a great tool for the real financial inclusivity. About over 80% the population in Malawi, don't own a smartphone and have access to internet connection. South African users now have access to bank payouts and card deposits
