What a thriller of a game! What a Super human effort from Shimron Hetmyer to take his team accross the line by hitting six required on the last ball of the game!!
By doing so Orcas also became the team to chase highest ever Total in MLC. They needed this victory after all what had been happening this season for them on or off the field. Things were not going well at all. They had alredy lost 5/5 and this led them to stacking their coach and removing Klassen from captaincy. And it seems to have worked for them. Their batsmen have all got starts and played more freely to never let the required rate go beyond them.
And finally requiring 21 of 8 balls, Hetmyer went for 2 big sixes which made the equation down to 9 runs off 6 balls. But MI again made a comeback with Pollard only giving 3 runs on first five balls. Then on the last ball, it was Mayhem! Seattle won their first game of this season.
Update for Degens
  • San Francisco and Unicorns are just one victory away from reaching to the playoffs.
  • There will be any two teams out of the remaining four to reach there. The gates are still open for all with Texas super Kings ahead by miles to other three.
  • Not Mathematically but TSK are also through to the playoffs, almost. They would still need two more wins though, or require no other team wins three matches to match them on the points table.

Big upset.
reply
I won't call it a upset because New York hasn't performed well like the Orcas. But it was like a thrilling and nail biting affair where a very high (highest for MLC) score is chased on the last ball.
You know how exciting it gets when the game is down to the wire. It was one of those matches.

I thought Orcas were the worst team?
reply
No not. Orcas have the greatest of T20 players like Klassen and Warner, they are also a very good team. If I give chance to any of the last three teams standing on the points table... Orcas is my most favourite.

It was a great one! I'm hoping the shakeup in leadership (whether or not that was the cause of their struggles) will revitalize them a little.
The Orcas have been my favorite team since year one, but after that first year it's been a little rough! Fortunately my second favorite, the Unicorns, have been doing great this year.
