It's time to check in with yourself, how is your trade going? Is your life savings a paper promise? What will you do with your summer?
The zine won't answer those types of questions, but hopefully this week's content will at least make you think.

To my current subscribers this month, your zine is on its way!

What's the vibe?What's the vibe?

Always looking for feedback on the stacker news zine, tell me anything in the comments. THANKS YALL

big fan of the project, over here! doodles, layout design and notes from the editor are the main selling points, imo.
personally, i like when we get treated with the editors' choice (like today!). im sure you do this frequently, but it's something im noticing more now.
a suggestion (one id love to hear others thoughts on) is maybe sometimes you can feature top posts from selected territories. it would really show the diversity of things being talked about here that is sometimes not fully represented by the top weekly stories (which is i think the current rationale for determining zine features).
Perhaps you already do this.
Edit: it looks like you probably already do this!
lastly, i love the subscription model. im waiting to see the revenue (or incurred loss) of the ~the_stacker_muse before i commit more sats, but im itching to purchase one.

feature top posts from selected territories

just noticed already you do this,(#1044922) right on!

reply

thanks pal yeah good thoughts! and i'm so glad you get what I'm doing. So far, besides top posts, i've used posts from ~Art sometimes. I think there are plenty enough artists in there now, so it should become a permanent feature

could you imagine a little section for a thought or a contest from ~the_stacker_muse ?

reply

Hey,
just was thinking about this this morning... brainstorming here...
i'd like to do a monthly issue featuring some of the writing in ~the_stacker_muse, zine style. im looking into my options to get some of this stuff into print, you know? so i wondered, have you ever considered printing as a service? i mean, if i took care of the layout, designing, editing etc., would you be able print it and ship it in exchange for some sats? what do you think? im open to other ideas as well...

reply

I apologize for my delay in returning to this, you caught me in the middle of some traveling.
It wouldn't necessarily thrill me to be the middle man, but I'm not closed off to it. I think, if you're still thinking about running a zine, if the idea still excites you, go ahead and make issue 0, the proof of the idea - and let's run from there if we catch any wind.

reply

interesting proposition. let me think on it for a few days and ill get back to you. Thanks!

doodles, layout design and notes from the editor are the main selling points,

So many cool flourishes all throughout and each edition feels fresh

reply

that's awesome thanks!

I really liked the selection of posts — if I hadn’t seen the zine, I would’ve missed the one about economics and photography. Congrats on the work, you bring the posts in a very unique style. It’s well formatted — not exactly my favorite artistic style, but it definitely brings the early 2000s vibe.

reply

I need to keep in mind that my words might end up in print. It's a little extra incentive to try to write well.

reply

If you take that kind of care, you lose the originality and essence — it’s there for a reason.

You write well enough

Catch-22

I’m sad I didn’t get the reference.

just a little extra oomph, why not?

reply

thanks so much for saying so! appreciate it, cool that you found new stuff in it

Love this so much, and thank you again for including us! The lo-fi design style and the general vibe is just perfect. I'd love to DM or email with you more about it if possible?

This is a great project clearly well thought-out and carefully planned to be executed properly and with precision.
