having our own "the swarm is heading towards us" moment, at least for me as a bitcoiner. i give mucho credit to those pubic figures in the space who offered to hold a key to the mulitsig for the trucker convoy. for once we had a crowdfund that was for multiple thousands of people, not for an organization or a family, but for a populous. we are seeing the struggle of figuring out the best way to distribute these funds. its easy for us to say "just download this wallet and blah blah", but we really do need real world solutions to problems like these. how can we get the funds into the hands of those we raised for, when they are incapable of managing the receiving of the funds themselves. this is an opportunity to figure this stuff out.
Any ideas shoot them here. i will try and gather my thoughts and jot down what i think may be feasible. alot has been discussed on twitter already, but never hurts to try and reach more minds.
keep stackin
  1. Next time, download Samourai Wallet on every participating trucker.
  2. Help truckers create a PayNym.
  3. Publish a list of PayNyms.
  4. Donate without fear of retribution or censure

this is ideal, and would have required some forethought before this all happened. definitely a good idea for future use, love me some bip-47 baby

also just found this doc, the current organizers trying to collaborate to find the best method.
personally not a fan of some of the people involved, but i am putting my personal opinions aside for the greater good of not fucking this up.

It's being written and edited in real-time. Pretty interesting to see.

yeah, i mean we are talking printers and envelopes and having people physically hand truckers envelopes, and then record yourself doing?!? that was on there earlier if its not anymore.
weird stuff, just wanna see them get it right, i know they all have the right intentions, easy for me to say all this when i cant even come up with a good strategy.

that's a really weird document

There's some trolling going on too (e.g., the comment about escorts being illegal in Canada, when the escort being referred to was like a security detail) -- so not everyone editing is a friendly.

yes, very much so.
this man and his CD-ROMS ugh thats why i figured maybe someone here had some ideas.

This may be cringe, but an idea is an idea. Wallets like ZenGo use biometric data to create a key, so theoretically only one wallet per person. Would that help?
Or set up payout contracts with food and fuel distributors in BTC direct rather than going direct to each trucker. Bad idea. Maybe good. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

i have no idea, was thinking you could use any LN funds to fund some ccs to paywithmoon. but then again, dont think they work all all merchants outside of US.
