Interesting that the highest group doesn't even pass 50%. That's kind of sad actually. Less than half of US women aged 25-55 would say that life was enjoyable most of the time in the past 30 days. I wonder how this would have compared to 30 years ago.

I did not read the article, so this is just a hot-take. My hunch is that to have children, one must already be happier than others to even consider it. Here, lots of childless couples carry some heavy childhood trauma, making them, on average, less happy, not wanting to pass on their burden and genes to someone else, and thus, less likely to have children. Basically, it's a chicken-and-egg problem. Happy coz of no kids, or no kids coz of not happy, that is the question. Just a hunch though.

To be unmarried without children is like a cardinal of sin to be lonely

Why is being alone a “sin”? And what have having children got to do with loneliness?
Our civilization is ending, the selfish bringing more humans into this bad world is the real “sin”.

Who wants to spend time with you most when you're elderly? Your children and grand children.
If you dislike humanity so much, kill yourself and leave the rest of us in peace. I like humans. Animals are stupid.

You didn’t answer the question of why being alone is a problem. You just told me to die.
I will add that this dependence on grandchildren is a poor, developing world meme. It’s selfish, and if you see your offspring as your retirement account, this is further evidence of broken fiat money, broken fiat society and broken incentives.

I suppose you will refuse the retirement benefits that your government has promised you which it took from other peoples' children.

I’ve been promised nothing by any government; and will take nothing.
I don’t need other people’s children funding a retirement Ponzi scheme.

Kys? Excuse me?
Do you regularly tell people you disagree with to do this? You are a bad person, and furthest evidence of decay of civilization. Rethink your position, as you are making the world a worse place.
