Action resumes in less than 1 hour. Best of the best European Football teams will kick off a new season that will take us to Budapest in May 2026, where a new Champion will be crowned.
This first week is a bit different as UEFA wishes to dedicate it exclusively to the Champions League. Tier 2 (UEFA Cup) and tier 3( Conference Cup) will commence in following weeks. Due to this, matches will be spread through 3 days, starting tonight.
Six matches will be played tonight. Two matches have been selected for Stackers to provide a result, both will kick off at 9 PM CET. Juventus and Dortmund will play at Turin. The Italians are leading the Serie A, along with Napoli, after 3 weeks. The "Black & Yellow" are performing well too in the Bundesliga, where are second, two points behind Bayern after 3 weeks too.
The other match selected is Tottenham vs Villareal. Last year's UEFA Cup winners, Tottenham, have a tough match against Villarreal. The Spanish side might be a bit unknown for some of you though they have a skilled roster. It may cause an upset tonight.
The other four matches are:
  • Athletic Club vs Arsenal: The Gunners pay a visit to the Lions. It's always a tough match in Bilbao. As an interesting fact, this Spanish club only signs players who have been born in the Basque Country. You may think it's a handicap for them these days though they always perform and keep developing new players every year. 6:45 PM CET.
  • PSV vs Union Sant-Gilloise: both teams have started well their local leagues. Belgians are leading their league after 7 weeks, three points clear from second. Slightly worse, PSV, is just 2 points behind Feyenoord, after 5 matches. 6:45 PM CET.
  • Real Madrid vs Marseille: new coach, Xabi Alonso, and seems a new team. 12 points out of 12 possible and Mbappé being the top scorer with 4 goals. New young signings such as Mastantuono and Hujsen are adjusting well. OM will need to be at their best to avoid a defeat tonight. 9:00 PM CET.
  • Benfica vs Qarabag: Portuguese side will play against one of the weakest rival you may encounter in this year's contest. It's their second time in a group phase and Benfica is clearly better. After transferring Gyokeres to Arsenal this summer, they signed Lukebakio from Sevilla, who is a player to follow close. 9:00 PM CET.
I hope you enjoy tonight's matches.
Which one will you be following?

Which match do you think will be the best to follow?

Tottenham vs Villareal should be a good one. I like how Villareal plays and an English team may help them.
Real Madrid vs OM is also a good one. They need to show that their recovery is good enough to beat European teams and not only La Liga sides.
