A person, group, organization, no one knows. Satoshi, the creator of Bitcoin mined the very first Bitcoin block back in 2009, since then, nobody has seen him (or her, or them). Who do you think Satoshi is? Do you think we will find the answer to mystery someday?

I find it unlikely he/she/they hasn't been involved all along the way. I can't really conceive of a person who, if alive, could sit silently while events occur with their creation.
That said, if they destroyed their keys, I can understand there is no value to revealing their identity. They can just carry on in plain sight with a new one.

I hope not. Maybe once they pass away it could be announced along with what to do with the BTC but otherwise I think it would hurt BTC big time
