realized loss
my father recognized me when he brushed our chess pieces off the board
My mind is brimming with possibilities in regard to the recognition. Regardless of the reason, my heart feels heavy.
Well done!

what do you mean exactly? thanks

Okay first thought - dad is suffering from dementia but somehow he remembers his son while brushing the chess pieces.
Second thought - maybe the son beat his father at chess, that’s why the latter recognises him
Third thought - why brushing? why so rough? Does the dad not have a good relationship with his son?
Basically, I’m intrigued by the cause for recognition, which I think evokes a sad feeling in me
Does my response make sense?
And sorry, I must have mistaken you for someone else! I see that you do a lot of pen drawings

Yeh. All could be true. I definitely designed it around 2 and 3, but 1 could also be true in my case. Forgetfulness caused by narcissism or just a very deep form of worthlessness on his part.
Though alzheimer has occurred in that family line as well, which makes me wonder whether that illness is just a symptom of living in a certain way.

Thank you. I tried to distill the essence of that memory. I'm glad it worked and you resonated with it and understood part of my life.
