What would you call someone who openly defies court orders, issues illegal executive orders, attempts to force private businesses and universities into doing what he wants by threatening to pull their broadcasting license and threatening to withhold federal funding, has completely renovated the oval office full of gold, and thinks he is above the law, which btw the supreme Court essentially said he (any president really) is?
Democracy is about the people, and Trump couldn't give a fuck what the people think. Over 80% of the country disagrees with how ICE and CBP are doing things and Trump's approval ratings are below 40%. And don't tell me "the majority of the country voted for him" because that's simply untrue. The majority of those who voted, voted for him and only about 1/3rd of the nation's eligible population votes in Presidental elections. Out of those people, only a small fraction above half voted for Trump. Do the math that is 1/6th roughly of the nation's eligible voting population which voted for him. The fact that you see a man who has personally profited off the Presidency and has made over 1 billion dollars off his memecoin scam since being inaugurated as someone who is working for you is hilarious and shows just how well right wing propaganda works.
good job getting engaged with civics, I guess.
what's your take on the "threat to our democracy" video of the newscasters all saying the same line?
reply
I'm also aware technically we are a constitutional Republic

The broadcast company that owns all these networks is one of the same abc affiliated networks that refused to air Kimmel after Disney put him back on air. Look deeper into that and you'll see they're a network that supports white Christian nationalism, which is the greatest threat to our democracy. Generally though, our local news networks are the most the trustworthy source of news left in the nation.
reply
Are you aware of anything other than this that shows them as an organization that "supports white christian nationalists"

Your sentence doesn't read well... perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you're getting at.
Yes, Sinclair owns many station licenses. ABC and other broadcast stations, are licensed to broadcast by the FCC, which obliges Sinclair to support decency (whatever that means).
I don't think Kimmel is funny, and I don't think his comments are decent. And from what I understand the ABC network is losing tens of millions per year on its operation. It's my guess that the decision to keep him off the air had something to do with taste, initially, and later it had more to do with bargaining for better rates on other revenue streams, with Disney (who was petitioning to keep him on the air).
our democracy.
whose? I don't own any. I'm also aware that (allegedly) we're represented by a government that's formed as a constitutional republic. I don't want a democracy, and I don't trust the majority of people to make good decisions for themselves, much less for me.
reply
Oh, and if you don't want the people to have the power, why don't you just move to Russia or North Korea? I'm sure you have the means to do so. It's pretty clear that's the type of government you want so what's stopping you man? Clearly you hate America and the values it was founded upon and what it stands for.

Kimmel is not losing money, neither is/was Colbert. CBS simply bowed the knee to Trump in their canceling of Colbert and Disney/ABC did so in response to Project 2025 architect and the FCC Chair stating on a right wing YouTube channel that they would come for ABC's broadcasting license if Kimmel wasn't removed. Which btw, if you think the government threatening a private company's broadcasting license over comments the administration doesn't like is okay then it's you who I don't feel comfortable with making decisions for me and the rest of us who just want to be free. The fact that you think the people shouldn't have a voice shows that you don't believe in true freedom and you probably would be okay with living under an authoritarian regime, given that regime implements the views and agendas you agree with. You seem like an incredible selfish individual, I bet you're probably against property taxes and income taxes as well because "fuck the poor and local police and emergency services," right? You probably advocate for laws that restrict voting access and are probably someone who jacks off to the awful and horrible videos we are seeing come out of the tactics the unmasked, name tag-less ICE and CBP agenda are using to round up immigrants AND US CITIZENS as well. Which yes, if you haven't seen which I'm sure you haven't, numerous citizens have been detained and held without charge for sometimes DAYS by mistake because they thought they were immigrants. You probably also are unaware that ICE agents are arresting immigrants that show up to their scheduled immigration court hearings for their asylum claims (which is a LEGAL METHOD OF IMMIGRATION) and deport them without even letting them see the judge or any judge.
You probably are just an awful human being who has the inability to feel empathy for anyone that has it worse off than you. And that's why you don't want to live in a government where the people have the power, because you don't want to have to be bothered by those people and would rather they just disappear. So, kindly fuck off.
If I'm wrong about any of what I've said, please, let me know. But I'm going to go ahead and guess that I'm spot on.

Not even close, sad to see you're a sympathizer of a group of people who seek to trample all over the constitution and who have been responsible for over 80% of mass shootings and acts of domestic terror in the nation's modern history. The statistics don't lie.
White Christian nationalists want to take away freedoms from anyone but them. There is no difference between their agenda and Sharia law in the middle east. Just look at the way they try and implement biblical law into our nations laws and the way they treat women, the LGBTQIA+ community, people of color, immigrants, and anyone that worships differently than they do. The similarities are truly scary.
White Christians have been against every effort in our nations history to expand freedoms to marginalized groups just look at the history and which side of it they were on. They used the Bible as their reasonings for slavery, against the women's rights movement, against the civil rights movement, and against same-sex marriage. The Bible is a look of love and Christ was a brown skinned refugee that preached socialist ideals, told the people to pay their taxes to Ceasar, spoke Aramaic, fed the poor (for free), healed the sick (for free), hung out with the poor, the sick, and the sinners on a daily basis, and never once forced those who he taught to follow his beliefs. If Christ returned today these White "Christian" nationalists would put him right back on the cross. If you disagree what I've said about Christ, maybe you should actually open that Bible you claim to follow, bud.
Our founding fathers created this country adamant on freedom for ALL and true freedom from religious persecution and don't forget they were deists. They all believed in freedom of religion and freedom FROM religion if you so choose. They would not support the white Christian nationalist agenda, not a chance.
To say white Christians are the reason we have our freedoms is truly laughable and shows just how out of touch you are. I can't wait until your generation dies off so we can finally catch up with the rest of the civilized world because we are far far behind in the categories that truly make a country great. Religion is nothing but a tool designed to mislead and control mankind. Wake up, sheep.

White Christians ended the acceptance of slavery globally.
You owe your entire modern life to White Christian Men.
Jesus Christ loves you and has a place for you in His Kingdom. But you’ll have to humble yourself and repent, or you can continue suffering in your mental illness and disgusting hatefulness for all eternity.
reply
First, white Christian men used the Bible as justification for slavery, forcing slaves to read the Bible in some cases as well.
They also used the Bible as justification against the women's rights movement in the 20s.
They used the Bible as justification against the civil rights movement as well as with extremist groups like the klan burning crosses on lawns.
White Christians also have used the Bible in more recent times as justification in an attempt to prevent abortion rights, same sex legalization, and trans rights.
So to say people have their rights thanks to white Christian man is flat out delusional. But given you believe in fairy tales, it doesn't shock me you live in your own reality. You spend too much time inhaling right wing propaganda and refusing to accept the facts.
You also never responded to the proof I showed you of how Trump has used the Presidency for direct profit, and now he's suing the justice department for 230 million dollars in another attempt to profit off the presidency since he himself appointed the people that will decide if they settle with him or not.
Have fun living on earth 2, but those of us here on earth one are busy trying to keep our Democratic Republic from becoming an autocracy.
reply
forcing slaves to read the Bible in some cases as well
And that’s a bad thing?
Teaching slaves to read and then eventually freeing them and ending slavery globally (except where it still exists today in Africa and other non-white non-Christian places)
-seems like a good thing to me.
Anyway have fun with your quest, I can understand that you hate people who say they are Christian, you are right that we all need to read what Christ said and be more like Him. I hope you’ll give him a chance and accept his forgiveness.
reply
I guarantee you I know the Bible better than you do. I actually went to a private Christian college, it's what pushed me into atheism.
And most slave owners did not want their slaves to learn how to read or are you that stupid you don't know basic history. I misspoke in my previous comment, slave owners forced slaves to attend reading sessions of the Bible where they were read passages from the Bible.
Don't argue with @AJ1992, he is ignorant and lives in his own unreality bubble.

Um so lets be smart for a second and lets look at a picture of the East Wing
Then lets also look at the history of it.... hmm wasnt built until 1902 as an extension of the initial White House structure. The White House itself is still completely untouched. If we want to split hairs in 1942 the building was significantly changed... hell they only left of part of it to hide the bunker being build and then added a second story.
The quote you used is like using the Schumer quote that "everyday the government is shut down is good for us" did he say it? Yep. But he didnt say it on camera or the specific way he did.
I mean its not surprising they figured to start from scratch was going to be cheaper and more structurally sound. Thats just basic common sense.
The only ones living in an alternate reality are you MAGAts. I believe in facts, science, data, and love and acceptance for all. You guys are too busy being deceived by a man who has spent his entire life enriching himself at the cost of the average citizen. If you would actually believe your eyes and your ears, you'd hear the deception yourself. But instead you refuse to believe what you see and hear from anyone else besides your wanna-be king.
reply
I don't believe you when you say you believe in science and data. Nothing you've said demonstrates that.
This guys behavior is just wild and makes chuckle because nothing screams being a "king" like winning an election and doing exactly what he said he was going to do. How dare a politician do exactly what they said they were going to do! How dare they not lie to me!!!
reply
He did exactly what he said he was gonna do, huh?
Are grocery prices and inflation down? Nope. The man said he'd lower them on day one...
Is the Ukraine/Russia war he promised to end on day one over? Nope.
Has he ended taxes on social security? Nope.
I can go on and on bud.
The fact is the every day average American is paying more for basic essentials than they were on Jan. 20th, 2025, the data and statistics don't lie.
And the fact that you're seemingly okay with human beings being kidnapped and taken away from their families and deported without any due process/seeing an immigration judge shows that you're a cruel human being who lacks any empathy. Trump said they were going to go after the violent criminals that were here undocumented, the gang members. Not the people that have been here for years, paying taxes, and just trying to earn a living for their family. That's why he's lost so much support in the polls on immigration recently, the people that voted for him don't even support this.
Trump was elected on the fact that he would bring prices down and make things better for the average American. He has done neither.
reply
Honestly please do keep going cause you dont have that many more. He could have actually have done the grocery and inflation moves but you would have exploded because he would have had to enact price controls.
Ukraine has been given more and more help to end the war with US targeting into Russia and even following something Trump told Zelenskyy... attack their oil infrastructure. Now he has public discussed giving tomahawks to Ukraine?! Biden didnt do anything near this and wasnt respected by anyone at all. Oh and a kicker for the whole thing.... Guess who was the President that sent Ukraine lethal aid way back in 2017.... oops that would be Trump approving Javelin missiles Obama only did nonlethal aid aka body armor and medical supplies.
taken away from their families and deported
Yeah if you commit crimes guess what you don't get to chill with your family. If I get pulled over driving my family drunk guess what I get separated that's literally the safest option. One of the biggest issues that the stats show is that the violent criminals are being arrested in places like LA, Chicago and others where the police are required to ignore ICE detention retainers.
Its wild you mention that he has lost so much support when the data in the same breath shows the biggest shift has come from the left getting more and more upset and therefore increasingly skewing the data because of the scales. Its why scales are a terrible metric to use. Border communities have been widely supportive of the policies because finally they were getting help. Plus from an environmental angle you should love the stop of the flow because now the trash and environmental damage has stopped.
You claim I dont care yet as someone who grew up and saw the results of the human trafficking the occurred across the southern border you must really not care if you are okay with that. The crimes against women horrible children vile and then they still sometimes kill them along the way. Not sure how you can be pro that but since you are so against the methods he used to stop the flow then... well... you have one option or the other there is no third.
Final though you are from/talking from Michigan hell of a long ways away from the Texas border where for years small communities struggled like Eagle Pass. Biden's idea was to use your tax payer money to just fly people, here illegally mind you because they did not go through a port of entry, into the US.
reply
Oh, and ICE isn't arresting and deporting violent criminals. They're arresting immigrants at their place of employment and at their asylum court hearings and deporting them without letting them see an immigration judge. I wasn't aware violent criminals have regular jobs and actually show up to their court hearings. We all support getting rid of violent criminals, but the fact is that's not what's happening no matter which way you try to spin it and you know it.
To reach the quotas Stephen Miller wants deported, you have to go after the hard working immigrants who have been here 25 years who work normal jobs. And the ones that are legally here via asylum claims and visas. And that's what's been happening. That's why the people are resisting.
And don't forget, only 1/3rd of the eligible population votes in presidential elections. Out of that amount only a small fraction above half voted for Trump. Do the math that's about 1/6th of the eligible voting population that voted for this wanna-be autocrat.
reply
You live in Michigan and have no clue what has gone on along the border. You sit on Bluesky and listen to your echo chamber. Meanwhile even your party and party leaders have admitted they screwed up. That they lied to the American people over this and innocent Americans were murdered and assaulted because we gave criminals parole.
Also 64% of registered voters voted in 2024 it was the third highest turnout since 1980. Dont be stupid and lobbing talking points that not even the Democrats use without sources.
reply
I don't even have a blue sky account. There you go with your assumptions.
Are you aware the number of opiate overdoses went down significantly last year according to the data that was just released? Only 48,000 people in this nation died last year due to fentanyl related overdoses. And you wanna know where it comes from? Mexico. Over 80% of the fentanyl that's seized by CBP is at the US/Mexico border. The President said the other day that each boat they blow up, illegally btw, is responsible for 25,000 fentanyl deaths in this country. The man doesn't even understand the data that his own fucking government puts out.
Read the article for proof of the data I just mentioned.
And btw, it's funny how you'll be the first one to show me a study that supports your narrative, but your side refuses to accept the thousands of scientific studies done that proved covid mandates worked and vaccines are safe and effective.
reply
Also, aren't you the guy that works/worked for a Republican member of congress who was in the Capitol building on Jan. 6th? Didn't you say before on here you were hiding and fearful for your life that day? I'm pretty sure that was you...what happened to you? There's a difference between having conservative viewpoints and supporting what's currently happening in this nation. Conservative viewpoints are somewhat okay, but believing the other side is "the enemy within" and supporting the murder of people like Melissa Hortman while getting upset when Charlie Kirk is killed is a totally different ballgame.
reply
Um no. I wasnt working for Congress at that time. Now I did go to see what it was all about and so I saw the shit show kicking off and bailed the hell out because it was wild. Dont ever try to speak of that day because you dont know a damn thing that happened. I watched horrific shit that day and the security being so disorganized that when it was overwhelmed said security move barriers out of the protesters way. I had literally moved 1300 miles 7 days earlier and didnt know more than two people.
You know how you lose a debate? You tell anyone that there viewpoints which the MAJOIRTY of America voted for a year ago are "somewhat okay." I mean wow how far have we fallen if the majority of Americans are only "somewhat okay" with what they voted for in your eyes.
You know the House held a moment of silence for her and passed a resolution condemning the act. No one is championing it you sick sick person. I mean Jesus Christ I cant believe I am even engaging with you on this because you want to live in a country where you side is the only side that can have a view point. Anyone else or hell the majority are only "somewhat okay."
You need to look in the mirror. Look at who is saying what and think do they really know what they are talking about or are they just saying stuff their staff told them to because they are an 80 year old person. The Republican Conference in both Chambers is significantly younger and it shows.
reply
It's not the majority of Americans, stop with that wrong characterization. It's 1/6th of the population over 18 if you do the math. I know you guys hate facts and statistics, but the facts are there are more people against what this administration is doing than supports it. Even some of those who voted for Trump like Rogan and others have come out against what ICE is doing and other aspects of his administrations actions.
And how am I sick for mentioning that your side is okay with murdering those you disagree with? Our own President didn't come out and condemn the murder of Melissa Hortman for over three months!!! And he didn't do it until he was pressed to do so by a journalist. Ask yourself why? Because he's okay with right wing extremism, he even said so himself on Fox and Friends shortly after Kirk died.
Remember, numerous elected Republican officials and Don Trump Jr. Publicly made fun of Paul Pelosi being attacked in his own home by a right wing extremist. The data and statistics also shows that the overwhelming majority of mass shooters and domestic terrorists are straight white males who have conservative ideologies. Don't let the recent attacks by those who believed in causes supported by Democrats fool you. Which btw, every high ranking Democrat and elected Democratic official came out against the murder of Charlie Kirk IMMEDIATELY following his murder. I don't think anyone on either side should be murdered for free speech. But your side only supports free speech for yourselves, just look at what you tried to do to Kimmel as a prime example. You yourself even said this may one of the last times I'm allowed to protest/freely show.my opposition to the President's actions. Are you saying you're against constitutionally protected peaceful protests and free speech in opposition to your views and the President's agenda? Then it's you that truly hates America. Not once do I remember ever seeing Obama or Biden attempt to keep people from peacefully protesting or attempting to censor comedians that made fun of them.
reply
All the right wing talking points and debunked conspiracy theories in here are hilarious. All while you think Trump blatantly hiding the Epstein files from the public isn't anything to be concerned with I assume. 🤣🤣🤣
And if you really think Biden and the U.S. government flew undocumented immigrants into this country you really need help and you really need to stop reading/listening to far right propaganda/"news" outlets. It's sad that people actually believe the trash they put out, even when the facts clearly state it never happened/the opposite.

Here's what the objective Meta AI (owned by Trump's friend Mark Zuckerberg) says about this Republican led committee's report.
The core of the article's claims are legitimate in the sense that they are based on actual, verifiable documents and a real government program, but the language used to describe the program—such as "mass-parole scheme" and "inadmissible aliens"—reflects the political and critical stance of the Republican-led Committee.
Here is a breakdown of the facts and the context to help you form your own conclusion:
The Program (CHNV) and the Facts
The Program is Real: The article concerns the Processes for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (CHNV), a humanitarian parole program launched by the Biden administration.
The Process is Real: The CHNV program allows certain individuals from those four countries who have a U.S.-based sponsor and pass a background check to fly into the U.S. and be granted temporary "parole" status for up to two years to live and work legally, as detailed in an overview by the American Immigration Council.
The Documents are Real: The documents detailing the airports used and the number of people paroled were obtained by the Committee via a subpoena of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), as the Committee on Homeland Security report states.
The Terminology is Accurate: DHS itself has noted that all individuals paroled into the United States are, by definition, inadmissible before receiving the parole, according to a Committee statement.
The "Propaganda" or Political Spin
The language and framing in the article are politically charged, which is typical of reports issued by a congressional committee majority that is in the opposition party (the Committee is currently chaired by a Republican and has been highly critical of the Biden administration's immigration policies):
Legal Debate: The article asserts the program is an "unlawful sleight of hand," arguing that the use of parole authority for a mass program violates the Immigration and Nationality Act, which permits parole only on a case-by-case basis. This is a central legal and political argument against the program.
Controversy and Fraud Allegations: The Committee and other critics consistently use terms like "mass-parole scheme" and have highlighted allegations of widespread fraud in the sponsor application process, which even led to a temporary pause in travel authorizations by DHS for a short period to investigate.
Counter-Arguments on Efficacy: The article focuses on the negative framing, while proponents of the program, such as FWD.us, argue that it was hugely successful in providing an orderly process that led to a significant reduction in unauthorized migration from the four countries at the southern border.
This program led the a massive reduction of undocumented migrants from showing up at the southern border. Why is that a bad thing? These people passed background checks and were given legal status, therefore, making them LEGAL immigrants. These aren't violent criminals, they're regular people who passed a criminal background check dude. You're spinning the facts to try and make this program seem like it allowed tons of violent undocumented immigrants into our country and that's not what it did at all. It allowed a legal pathway for immigrants to enter the country and work here. The only reason you're against that is because in reality you want this country to be a white nation and you forget this country was built by immigrants. Get a clue dude.
