it has been over two months since the official Algerian law has stated that trading or having, treating crypto currencies as means of transaction or something that hold a value is forbidden and against the Algerian law since this took a different direction other than what the whole world was planning and some countries even adopted as their official currency meanwhile here you may face a fine of over 7000 us dollar or even jail from 2 months up to 1year for having some usdt which is crazy.
Sometimes, I feel like living in Algeria means living behind invisible walls. Not the kind you can see or touch, but ones that quietly block you from the rest of the world — especially when it comes to money and technology.
Here, something as simple as buying a book online, subscribing to a service, or sending money abroad becomes almost impossible. International payments don’t work because our local debit and Visa cards aren’t accepted outside the country. For many of us, that means no Amazon, no Netflix, no access to online tools that people elsewhere take for granted.
And now, with the ban on cryptocurrencies, even the small door that once offered hope has been slammed shut.
For a while, crypto gave us a hope or even a taste of freedom for sometime. It wasn’t about getting rich it was about being included in a global system that we’ve always been cut off from. You could buy things, support creators, learn skills online, or send money to family members living abroad. It gave us a way to participate, to feel part of something bigger. and that is crypto community.
But with the ban, even that fragile connection has been taken away. The fear of being punished for simply owning Bitcoin or using crypto makes us go silent, hiding behind VPNs and fake accounts, just to buy what certainly need and it is not available in the whole country such as some goods from AliExpress.
It’s heartbreaking, because this isn’t about greed or rebellion it’s about dignity. It’s about the right to manage our own money, to learn, to trade, to create. we definitely know for sure if we tried to pay with our local bank card it would be written not supported in bold form
i believe in freedom and especially in the freedom of owning what we have and that is the money of internet such as usdt and bitcoin.
I don’t want to live in fear for being curious and want to learn and buy what do i really need without restrictions and do not be a servant for those 3rd party that takes advantages of such misery.
and i want to expand my horizon and seek other opportunities in which we must together to come up with solutions and i hope that we may come across one in the near future.

Please be careful. It may not be easy, but Bitcoin can be well hidden.
When there's a will there's a way.
