imo community means so many things that it's practically meaningless.
i'd argue that it only has one usual meaning, which is a group of people who share something in common
not sure if it has other meanings besides that

fair, but it's used to describe too many things. it doesn't really tell me anything except that there are based people peopling on the internet. it's helped by "most" but that's super unverifiable.
free your mind of ever having heard of SN. what would you need to hear - from someone you do not trust at all - to best understand what SN is and as fast as possible.

it's true, preferable not to reference reddit, but it is still the easiest way to understand what this place is.
