I have had on my to do list to sit down and mess with BitChat.
This video was helpful to see the basic functionality.
I have a vision of assembling some base station that can be deployed in a hurry.
Vision: Android tablet, solar panel, charger controller, weather proof box, and a long pole to get it up high in the air. To act as a dedicate relay station.
No one to talk to on this I already got a enough chat apps where I am the only one talking/on boarded.

I heard there's a plan to collaborate with meshtastic devs to extend network and make it even more robust.

I like how it started with Jack's vibe and then it got forked? To android and then multiple apps popped up.
Originally you needed someone in your vicinity to interact with, which was usually zero unless at a conference or something.
And now it's bridged with Nostr I believe and you can just join random chats based on geo location or keyword.
It seems to have died off lately from a talking point but it's one of those apps, when you need it you need it.
