pull down to refresh

Every year since 2021 we have had a thanksgiving potluck at PlebLab tonight was our 5th one. Here is the prayer I said to bless the food before eating. 🙏
Lord,
Thank you for your amazing power and work in our lives, O God, Father of all goodness, who through your Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit pours out every grace upon us.
Thank you for your boundless mercy and for the blessings you have showered upon us this year. Thank you for your great love and tender care, and for the sacrifice of your Son on the Cross, that we might have true freedom and eternal life.
Thank you for the gift of friends and the joy they bring into our lives. Thank you for the opportunities to work and create, for the skills and talents you have blessed us with, and for the chance to serve others through our work.
Forgive us when we fail to thank you enough for who you are, the source of every good gift, and for all that you do and have given us in your providence.
Help us to set our eyes and our hearts on you afresh. Renew our spirits, fill us with your peace and joy.
We ask that you Bless this food:
BĂ©nedic, ✠ DĂłmine, nos et hĂŠc tua dĂłna, quĂŠ de tua largitĂĄte sĂșmus sĂșmpturi. Per Christum DĂłminum nostrum.
Bless our friendships and our work. Help us to be a light in the lives of others, to encourage, support, and uplift those around us.
Guide us to use our work and our relationships to glorify you eternally.
We love you and we need you, this day and every day.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, Amen

It was a beautiful prayer. Also, we should do a potluck every month.

Beautiful prayer indeed, brother! To him be glory forever. Amen 🙏
Just out of curiosity: did you say the prayer aloud, during a family dinner, including the Latin part? I ask because I've never seen anything like that (I come from a reformed tradition)

What a lovely prayer @Car thank you so much for posting it here. I think I will print this out and recite it for my family and friends at our Thanksgiving. God bless you

Couldn’t share the pictures or anything but I thought I’d at least share the prayer. I actually gotten much better at them this year, since I started creating a new prayer every evening for myself and someone I cared about.
