Padawan is application is a place to learn the common features of mobile bitcoin wallets.

It uses bitcoin's testnet, an alternative bitcoin network used globally and built exclusively for testing. The coins on this network do not have any value, but they otherwise look and behave just like normal bitcoins!

This wallet is built for users of all ages to experiment and learn about bitcoin in a risk-free environment.

Learn by Doing
Padawan sends you testnet coins when you start the app for the first time. This allows you to try your hand at sending and receiving coins with your friends without risking any funds! You can use Padawan to learn about how to create, test, delete, and recover wallets on mobile devices.

The app also comes with 9 short tutorials that walk you through these first steps, and teach you the common situations you will encounter when using bitcoin in the wild.

  • Completely free
  • 9 tutorials
  • Focused on practical use of bitcoin
  • Learn in a risk-free environment
  • Start sending and receiving within minutes

Hey I check your book and It's great resource. Together with testnet wallets are a great resource for beginners and build up confidence in managing funds.

reply

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out how to market it. I'd sure appreciate any ideas.

reply

I read somewhere you wanted to make it open source somehow? And sell only physical copies?

You could try the ~AGORA to start small, and receive some more detailed feed

reply

Yeah, I did put it up here - https://bitcoinhandson.github.io/BitcoinHandsOn/.

Even if you open source it, though, unless you're a big name, it doesn't seem to get noticed.

I'm still selling the paperback, ebook, and just uploaded the audiobook version on Amazon.

reply

Great is there already! I'm missing the cover in this open source version.

Not sure how to market books, what I'm seeing is that this web open source version is missing links to Amazon for buying the printed or audio version.

In the printed and audio copies too, I'd expect a link to this open source version.

reply

Yes, I definitely need to have some more links in there. Especially the cover needs to be there, that would make it look more professional.

reply

Thank you, all your guidance is very useful for us learners.

reply

I really like this idea.
Get folks hands on experience with sending receiving so it becomes less arcane, without worrying about real coins or putting in any money
