He has been playing on a bad knee for most of the season. I'm surprised they went this route, rather than putting him on IR like Bowers.
If he ever gets traded, I think it will be to try to put the Lions over the top and win their first Super Bowl.
He seems displeased about the team’s decision.
When they shut him down last year, they literally took away his helmet and wouldn't let him on the sideline because they were concerned he'd try to get on the field.

I hate to admit it but that would be feasible. They have the cap space for him next year and even though some of their young players will start to get expensive a couple years down the road they will have Stafford coming off the books. So they definitely could make it work and they have an extra first round pick in the coming draft.
