I was frustrated that Apple Find My would always only show the live location - so I wrote a small little app that polls the location of my devices every now and then and saves it to a local database.

I also give you a web interface to view the historical timeline of each device.

I think the repo might be private but I love the idea. I was searching for something like this not too long ago and was surprised to not find anything.

This is a thoughtful and practical solution. Many people do not realize how limited the built in tracking features can be when you actually need historical movement data for your devices. Storing it locally also means you retain control over your own information rather than relying entirely on a cloud service. The timeline view you describe transforms Find My from a reactive tool into something much more useful for pattern recognition and real world troubleshooting.
