I think we're also interested in knowing exactly what that means. He said the same thing about Palestine a while ago. Hopefully, Venezuela fares better than that.

Might not mean anything, probably just a distraction for the media. Venezuela's got its people, but new elections in the next few months seem pretty much inevitable.

Either new elections or just placing the supposedly rightful winner of the last one.

Venezuela's military said it recognizes Vice President Delcy Rodriguez as the country's acting leader after Nicolas Maduro was extracted from Caracas by U.S. forces on Saturday.

Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez issued a statement endorsing a Supreme Court ruling that appointed Rodriguez as acting president for 90 days.

Trump says the same.

“’She’s essentially willing to do what we think is necessary to make Venezuela great again’, Mr. Trump told reporters of Ms. Rodríguez. […] ‘Nobody will take power. They have a vice-president, who was selected by Mr. Maduro, who is currently the vice-president, and I guess is now the president’, he said.”

Seems like the obvious way to go! Has anyone brought up lifting the sanctions on Venezuela yet?

I think the Venezuelan people view her as just another Maduro / Chavista crony. Think the public will feel abused....but may be only realistic answer.
