I saw this headline about mstr shares surging after the crash sensationalism, as i was looking through it, ol Peter was sticking the knife in as usual
But there was a comment in amongst the grass that caught my attention, they weren't talking about Bitcoin or Strategy or gold for that matter, what do you think? Link below to original tweet
Seems like we are getting to the point where it is obvious that the markets are rigged.Seems like we are getting to the point where it is obvious that the markets are rigged.
I have followed the markets for years and invested in stocks, gold, silver and even dabbed in crypto.I have followed the markets for years and invested in stocks, gold, silver and even dabbed in crypto.
I feel like I'm just hitting a hard limit right now, i'm starting to just not care what my 401k balance says, or what spot is for my metal.I feel like I'm just hitting a hard limit right now, i'm starting to just not care what my 401k balance says, or what spot is for my metal.
It all just seems meaningless. It all just seems meaningless.
I already have a decent car and a functioning paid for house.I already have a decent car and a functioning paid for house.
What else am I going to do with more wealth? What else am I going to do with more wealth?
Spoil my kids when they are adults, no thanks, i've seen how that ends, buy more shiny stuff to try and impress strangers. No thanks.Spoil my kids when they are adults, no thanks, i've seen how that ends, buy more shiny stuff to try and impress strangers. No thanks.
At what point is all of this just meaningless numbers? At what point is all of this just meaningless numbers?
It's fun sometimes I guess but what is it all really for? It's fun sometimes I guess but what is it all really for?
We just die in the end anyway, and from what I have seen when a rich person is about to die the ones that love them are excited for the inheritance rather than sad to see them go.We just die in the end anyway, and from what I have seen when a rich person is about to die the ones that love them are excited for the inheritance rather than sad to see them go.
Maybe it's time as a species to rise above all the numbers, noise, and obsession with power and image and start paying more attention to the things that will matter.Maybe it's time as a species to rise above all the numbers, noise, and obsession with power and image and start paying more attention to the things that will matter.
Nobody on their deathbed wished they had spent more time obsessing over markets rather than spending time with their kids or loved ones.Nobody on their deathbed wished they had spent more time obsessing over markets rather than spending time with their kids or loved ones.
an interesting take I thought, irl for me there's two guys i can reference, one has worked his ass off for 30 years building up a multi million dollar company, where he grinds 7 days a week for 18hrs a day and he's just had a full stroke, luckily he survived it, but he's now a shell of his former self, with time he hopefully will recover
and the other guy is a vagrant I've seen on the streets of our town for years, he sits in the same doorways hoping for some change, while drinking all day
well obviously the two guys are on different paths but the grindset narrative and nihilism are polar opposites in culture, but ultimately both these men will face the same ending, it's what we do while we're here i guess
"a comment in amongst the grass"?
I don't know this expression!
I guess it's a golf related term, looking for your ball in the rough and finding someone else's
Sounds dirty
🤣🤣🤣
The comment reads to me like effete intellectualism, exhaustion and self-loathing over reason
So stunning and brave to say platitudes like we can't take it with us when we die, but will that house keep functioning until they're dead? Do they want to be 80+ with a leaky roof or a dead furnace? Is the car going to run forever, is it magically free of maintenance costs?
They also seem to have a terrible relationship with their kids, going to the extreme of spoilage rather than a hand up. Fearing their greed rather than the comfort of knowing they offer more than wealth. Peak boomer projection.
The dichotomy of obsessing over markets vs spending time with those kids combined with the above is an admission they struggle with balance. Passive income and wealth management is how you get free time. Money is just the means to buy the real currency, time.
Perhaps they'd rather leave a bill for their kids?
That's one sad MF.
