This seems like one of those tools that's mostly relevant when your client software doesn't store your events (e.g. web clients) and can't post an event to multiple relays. Because a client with both of those features could deal with a relay outage by just re-posting your events to additional relays.
Regardless, it's nice to see more people developing software for Nostr.

I mainly did it to download events posted to default Damus relays and then post them to my Umbrel relay for backup of sorts. There may have been easier ways to do that, but what the hell, learned a little from it. 😊

Honestly, your approach is probably the easiest -- at least until most clients store events and provide a "backup my events" button.
That's always a good reason to write code for Nostr. We will need a lot more people working on Nostr to make it usable for the next billion users. And also to figure out what we can use Nostr for besides micro-blogging.
