AI posting, yet this is a common point of contention between Catholics and Prots.

Prots feel this proves "we are saved by faith only".

Whereas Catholics feel that this is just stating the obvious ,"you don't have any automatic lawyer like way to get into heaven" (you can't force Gods hand with your 'good works', your admittance is solely by the grace of God)

Remember also to put this into context with what Jesus said:

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.” (Matthew 25:35–36)

So the comprehensive summary is:

  • Per Jesus directive, you are expected to do good works for your fellow man
  • However, you can't lawyer your way into heaven.

All in all this is one of the useless debates that needlessly separates people, as it just becomes people arguing about things that neither side actually disagrees with.

Thank you for your contribution. I’m also still in the process of learning the catechism, and I notice there seem to be many branches with conflicting views. Yes, I do use AI to speed up my learning process. I think it’s an interesting way to combine technology and faith in today’s digital age, making the journey more engaging. What do you think?
