pull down to refresh

New York Giants- Likely got the best Edge rusher and best OT in the draft at pick 5 and 10.

Dallas Cowboys (sad)- traded up to steal Downs at 11 and then traded back and stole the 49ers pick in Lawrence at 23. Honestly, Jerry has been cooking since the Parsons debacle. I hate to say it but the Cowboys might be good.

Tampa Bay Bucs- Reuben Bain Jr at 15? Steal.

Tennessee Titans- Got the #1 WR and snuck back into round 1 to draft Keldric Faulk at 31. Faulk is essentially a carbon copy of Mykel Williams who the 9ers took at 11 last year. Faulk like Williams isn't a great pass rusher but man is he a perfect scheme fit for Saleh.

Chicago Bears- Thieneman at 25 is great value.

Pittsburgh Steelers- Got the OT with the most versatility and upside and broke all the draft records.

Honourable mention to the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers for trading out of the first round effectively stealing the disgusting Seagulls trade back options and forcing them to take a second string RB (good player) in the first round.

Let's hope Rounds 2 and 3 are as eventful.

You're missing the obvious winner of the draft.

That said, the Giants had a great night, even if they didn't have the balls to take Downs at 10.

I think @HardMoney had a decent point about the Giants being heavy on DE/OLB guys. I think getting Reese at 5 was really good value since many considered him the best prospect in the draft but he is a little redundant so maybe they should have gone secondary.

reply

eventually one of them will be the next Micah Parsons if you keep taking a positionless tweener off all line backer with pass rush upside potential every year

reply

Their division rivals had a little success being slanted towards pass rushers.

Bengals didn’t make a bad pick? lol

Yet. Opportunity knocks today!

I don't like the Sadiq pick for them. He is a dynamic playmaker but they drafted a good young TE last year in the 2nd round. I think Sadiq was a luxury pick that doesn't really make sense for a team with holes all over their roster and especially on defense.

Let's see what they do the rest of the draft. Maybe my mind can be changed.

Do you think the Pats drafting Lomu means Campbell is getting shifted to RT?

reply

l think so sure

reply

Man that’s a high pick they used on him to redraft the same position the following year

reply

Jets had a great round 1.

Shame those 3 guys careers are ruined before they even started.

As an aside. Since the Giants no longer need Kayvon Thibodeaux the 49ers will happily take him for a 4th. That would open up some interesting options for them with their picks since they wouldn't need to go Edge in round 2 or 3. They could really upgrade corner, safety, RB or TE room.

reply

the giants have like 4 versions of avrel Reese

I expect they will move on from Thibodeaux. It’s a 3-4 they only have 1 tackle so they are using all these guys as extra linebackers.

It’s a decent point that maybe they should have targeted CB or S where they need more help.
