This reminds me of every jaded dev ranting on a programming discord.

The author of the website? Maybe he/she is just tired to respond to that question so many times?
In the other side, there's people that unfortunately don't know how to formulate a question and, most important, how to contextualize it. Education is the base, and we cannot expect everyone to have the same experience/capabilities managing languages, that's why it is on us to read between the lines, put our self in other people shoes and try to provide the most useful answer based in our knowledge...
You'd need to have a lot of empathy (and knowledge about the topic) to understand where that person is coming from and respond to such an ask-to-ask
And yes, agree @JesseJames Those 10$ could have been better invested.

Did @fiatjaf write this?

I'll take that as a compliment.

People try to be polite, but in reality they are being impolite.

Honestly this post feels even more useless than someone asking if there are any java experts

You must be new to the internet.

Weird, someone just spent at least $10 for a domain name and created one post. Heck, convert that $10 to zaps and spread the love on StackerNews :-) Zap away...! There is plenty of us here that have nothing to do and will answer your questions....lol. I will answer for zaps...

Great read. Just ask your question. This is synonymous with someone pinging you "Hey". Just ask me the question and get on with it

Yes. I read all this netiquette stuff before I joined SN and I realized this wasn't posted here ever before.
I might post more stuff like this if I find them in my bookmarks lol

This is kind of in the same boat, but not really: http://www.paulgraham.com/makersschedule.html

Oh, yeah, Paul Graham's blog is awesome.
He's also the founder of Y Combinator in case you didn't know. Maybe that's why his blog is so good

Another reason might be that I am embarrassed to ask a dumb question , and a darthcoin style of communication is why I dont just ask.
But a q&a site is different from something like a telegram chat. Here even dumb questions are welcomed, in most instances.

That is quite funny because i used to ask a lot of people around about java matters but still don't have a clue and the circles keeps on going .
