After sn members descuced about what subs should be added and topics...
Now this post is about gathering idea for the base mechanics and UX side of this update
What do you think is the perfect implementation of generating subs a
i start first:
  • First every sub need a pinned post like a grayscaled box in the top that contain a description of the sub and the name of it in the top not like now, the admin of it ,posting fee... (We should also make more parameters)
posting fee cost must be synced with how much the admin pays for the creating this sub maybe ?
  • ... Give your ideas
First every sub need a pinned post that contain a description of the sub and the name of it in the top , the admin of it ,posting fee... All this in a box in the top not like now
perhaps the sidebar could be useful here, and maybe an expandable gear icon on mobile to show these settingsā€¦ not sure it needs to look like a pinned post

Something like a start page That remember you what this sub is about Because accessing sub is manually in sn

Also when someone create a new sub that pinned post will appear in the home feed so you know a new sub was added

I'll be watching this thread, thanks!
Details of user generated subs are very fluid right now so this is helpful. I've only considered very high-level stuff like:
  • how trust works in a sub
  • how many sats does it cost to start and maintain a sub
  • variations on how the sub creator earns sats from it

Something interesting meetup does is the ability for a dormant group to be taken over or acquired, usually after nonactivity and lack of general updates. This approach favors the group as a whole.
I imagine SN having some sort of plan for abandoned subs. Most Bitcoiners take on more than they can handle.
A system similar to meetup could potentially keep these subs alive.

I see a few points that need to be addressed:
.Electing a sub creator What if several people want to create the same sub? 1/ First come, first serve? 2/ Kind of lottery? 3/ The one who pay more gets the sub? 4/ Community vote? I would tend to choose 1/ but not sure it's ideal.
. Conflicting names/themes What if someone want to create a sub on "Cryptos", another one on "Cryptocurrencies"? Probably better to let go, but could quickly be a mess.
. Sub-subs Shouldn't we try to organize subs by topics, rather than a flat structure will all subs at same level? (for instance /sport, then /sport/football, sport/tennis...)
. Subs limit per person What if someone decide to create dozens of subs? Is it allowed? To avoid excessive noise, probably better to put a limit (say, 3 subs max per person).

  • Sub creation limit per person in a time period , we could determine the period by trust level

Voting for sub look nice but choice 1 will be good for the beginning
What about stackers who stacked xx sats or more have the posibility to create subs
