For some reasons people have posted below, this isn't a substitute for mixers, and it's probably not going to be a big thing right now. But it will be a big thing later, along with a host of other infrastructure that offers features and services at every point along the sovereignty / community gradient.

Can't wait until this becomes the norm. More people could use practice, help and guidance between being tood to watch some YouTubes and get a cold wallet.

Pretty much my view too. As long as it's all open sourced and battle tested... then yeah - multi sig with a community around you to teach and show others in a closed environment.

Agreed, mixers are not good(not the same as coin join). Fedimints are very promising but do require some level of trust as well.

I guess so, any eCash mint could be a way to go in and out and try to break coin heuristics, but federations could be the issue, what if federations say I only accept coins that aren't coinjoined previously or UTXOs need to be verified by some 3rd party chain analysis tool before they can enter the mint?

I think some sort of system like this will have to be used in the future because interacting with the base layer might get prohibitively expensive.

Fedi mints are literally a federation taking your sats & handing out ecash. Maybe you might know them or they have a good reputation, but ultimately you're not holding your own keys.
