I had an experience with my Breeze wallet about a week ago and it's still sitting with me. Here's what happened - i was out walking my dogs and got an alert from Breeze that channels were being closed, I was being charged a fee, and needed to move my sats on chain ASAP. I paused my walk, moved my remaining sats (about 330k sats) to another wallet. The channel closure fees totalled around 660k sats (around $200 USD at the time) and so I was only able to move a 3rd of my original Breeze balance to another wallet.
I get that channel closures happen, and since i wasn't using the wallet all that actively i'm guessing that's the reason my channel(s) were forced closed. I obviously should have done more research before putting sats on this wallet. I am still marveling at the magnitude of the channel closure fee.
When I reviewed the Breeze FAQ, it made it seem as though perhaps my sats were en route to my on chain wallet (or my hopium caused me to believe that). Has anything like that happened to others and other than not researching this wallet more thoroughly before using (which is a big sin) and not transacting very often is there anything that I may have done wrong? I didn't think it was such a high fee environment that i'd lose 2/3rds of my sats for this type of transaction Thanks for any thoughts on this that others care to share!

That doesn't make sense. Contact us at contact@breez.technology and we'll look into your environment. Apologies for the inconvenience.

to anyone that was following this thread, I just wanted to say that the Breez team helped me recover the sats that I thought had been spent in channel close fees. A big thanks to their support team for their help!!
