Anyone know why its going to take over a month to sync the blockchain?
I'm using an old thinkpad with Ubuntu & a 1TB external hard drive
Did I miss something on the set up or is it just Australian internet sux?

Likely, your external HDD is a bottleneck. If it is not USB 3.0 even dozen of thousands blocks demand syncing for a week or so.

There are a couple USB ports. Maybe I can try the other one & see if it makes a difference
