The Waiting Game
So, what do stacker sports regulars talk about on the Monday before the Superbowl, after a weekend without NFL games?
Apparently Rugby and losing sats betting on Rugby.
Keeping me on my toes here guys. If you are interested in Rugby, I suggest you check out @Public_N_M_E's post regarding the Six Nations tournament. #413061
We are also talking about Lebron possibly getting traded. Weigh in with @Undisciplined here #412535 Trade rumour mill, now we are talking.
Speaking of trades. I know its been a cold, slow winter for the MLB stove, but the Orioles trading for former Cy Young award winner, Corbin Burnes is a big deal. Burnes did not have his best year last season but is still one of the top 5 pitchers in baseball in my opinion. He is going to anchor an already better than average starting rotation on an exciting young team that should compete for the division again. Not looking good for my Blue Jays. Sadly I think they are probably the fourth best team in the AL east right now and maybe can sneak into third if the Rays returning pitchers don't return to form. We are only a few weeks away from Spring Training games starting. Although the offseason has been a bit of a dud, and I am disappointed the Jays did not do more, I can't wait for some spring baseball.
I imagine we will be talking some Superbowl this week right? Right?
Sats for all, GR
I was playing around with the NBA trade machines and came up with a Magic-Heat trade that I liked:
Heat get
  • Jonathan Isaac
  • Joe Ingles
  • Draft compensation
Magic get
  • Tyler Herro
  • Caleb Martin
The Heat are too small and Isaac is a monster PF on defense who's flashed 3-point range. Ingles is another savvy vet and he's bigger than Herro or Martin (who's going to leave in free agency anyway).
The Magic are huge and need more playmakers. Herro's still young and could form a solid scoring trio with Franz and Paulo going forward.

Add this one to the trade contest and I will zap you 1000 sats if it comes true.

Ok, but I don't think it will happen. I just like it.
I think the Heat are more likely to go after Jerami Grant or another fairly high profile player.

In an attempt to get into football, I just watched Any Given Sunday along with the Rewatchables episode about it. I have a DVD of Superbowl highlights that I might whip out. Don't have cable so not sure how I'll catch the game. Anyway, may the best team/advertiser/Taylor win!
