@k00b don't you think we need a limit between posts? like 15/20min and that if the user publishes much earlier, the value is increased to keep posting
reply
I think it would be better with the collapse thread being applied, this way ppl can share as much content they like, and ppl who are browsing the recent tab can mark/hide threads theyve seen but havent upvoted but i could be wrong
reply
always someone trying to abuse the system 🤦‍♂️

he is not earning anything, he is just sending a lot of links. literal has a publication in which he asks for sats to continue spamming 😂 Apparently he doesn't know that the algorithm changed
reply
true but it spams the /recent page though adding more noise
reply
Yeah I saw this too, and comment in this exact daily discussion thread about it:
We might have to increase repetitive posting costs. Exponentially increasing costs within an hour seems reasonable.

TBH I wasn't sure the new algorithm changes would be a good idea... the more I think about it, I'm digging that it probably encourages lurkers to participate more. 👍 👍
reply
I agree. It does appear there's more participation than before.

i´m thinking to build a Bitcoin and a Lightning node , but I'm hesitating whether to use an older laptop that I use less, the problem is that I have a 1tb hard drive and I want to leave it on and never remember the node, that's why I doubt whether to buy a raspberry pi, buy another external hard drive or reuse the 2tb one that has plots of chiao I don't know.
What do you recommend? I need the node to consume as little as possible and allow years of blockchain to be stored. I understand that the BTC blockchain already weighs. If I also want to play LN, I don't know if it will last.
reply
Laptops are cool because they have a battery that doubles as a UPS. The 2 tb drive would last longer before you needed to upgrade.
Depends on how old the laptop is, I guess. An SSD makes a big difference, too.

Got my first piece published in Bitcoin Magazine today 😀
reply
What was that process like?
reply
Pretty straightforward. I sent them an early draft of the piece and they replied that they were interested in publishing it. I just followed the guide here: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/write-for-us

"Ethereum enables the financial crisis on the blockchain." I heard this in a podcast today. It's the best description of Ethereum imho

I have been upvoting more to test the new algo, but not earning nearly as much as before. I can feel it is making me more risk averse because I am gauging the "profit/loss"
reply
You have to upvote stuff early, ideally before anyone else recognizes a great piece of content, to reap larger rewards
reply
What happened to daily sats back?

reply
Algorithm changed. Rewards go to top comments/posts in the last 36 hours, in addition the people who upvoted them
