I like to keep up with a lot of game dev world cause I find it fascinating and I'm a gamer myself.
I saw this video last night and it blew my mind. I haven't been keeping up with the latest in UE5 and seeing this video really stretched my mind in seeing how far a development tool can go. Features like Nanite and Lumen are game changers, literally. Nanite allows for cinematic-quality visuals in real-time, and Lumen brings dynamic lighting to a whole new level. The demo scenes are something you'd expect out of a high-budget sci-fi movie, not something you can interact with in real-time.
I know UE5 and Epic aren't the most open and accessible but it's amazing what they're doing nonetheless.
This is dope, just imagine this 5 years from now. Crazy…

My brother-in-law just graduated from college and has been developing games. It sounds really satisfying.
One of weirdest pleasures is playing a AAA game once every five years or so and being impressed by how far realtime rendering has come.
