No Home runs, No fun allowed
I had a different post planned for today but I could not pass this up. Although it probably should have been a separate post in the LOL territory, I am going to cheat and make it my daily.
A buddy of mine just sent me a picture of this sign affixed to the fencing of a youth baseball field in Toronto that has gone viral on social media.
Apparently this field is very small and the park itself has been shrunk to almost nothing beyond the baseball diamond due to condo developments in the area so it makes some sense as to why the city posted this "cover your ass" sign but it is too hilarious to pass up. No competitive play, No homeruns. How about just posting "no fun allowed"?
I am sure this sign will totally not encourage kids to try to hit bombs over the fence. Haha. The field closest to me when I was growing up didn't have a home run fence but there was a tennis court about 280ft (my dad measured it out of curiosity once) away from home plate in left field. My friends and I used to spend our entire batting practice trying to hit bombs into the tennis court. So I am sure this sign will be highly effective.
Free the Home Run I say!
Sats for all, GR
Competitive play is allowed, just not competitive high-level play. So someone who sucks is allowed to give it their all (with softballs and wooden bats).
But seriously, "no home runs?" Short of bunting, how can you even try to honor that one? "Sorry officer, I was trying for a double and the wind took the ball over the fence."
reply
Good catch. It's very egalitarian.
reply
It's hilarious. Hence, why I felt compelled to post it.

Oh, I just realized Joker won MVP. @Undisciplined please comment below to claim your 1k sats. I'll zap your comment to pay my betting loss.
reply
@grayruby, you gonna pony up too?
reply
Well played my friend. Third MVP for Joker. But looks like he will get cooked alive by the Timberwolves if he and his team don't bounce back in game 3.
reply
The way they’re imploding is really shocking.
reply
Yes, that game 2 was very ugly. My round 2 pick'em is not looking so good.
reply
Didn't even realize it had been announced. I heard the Wemby ROY news and that Gobert had won DPOY.
reply
I thought it was going to be announced later.
Now I have enough to cover my losses when the Wolves sweep the Nuggets.
reply
Kids will do what they want no matter what sign or rule gets posted. The so called "rule makers" are just dumb. Rules only work if they are able to be enforced; have fun trying to enforce these rules.
By the way, anyone watching the Knicks vs Pacers game? Brunson is amazing man. Hurt in the first quarter, Knicks down double digits at the half, I thought the game was over. Then he comes back in the third, limping, and goes on to will his team to take back the lead. The grit and will on this man is crazy.
reply
OG out for the rest of the game. Tough break for Knicks. He was playing so well. Brunson might need to will them to a win.
reply
It's shaping up to be a tight finish.
Canucks game starting soon too. Busy night for me again watching games haha.

Canada is a big country with a such small parks. I can't believe it
reply
Canada has a lot of great big parks but not in the middle of the biggest city where everything is built right up against the next thing.
reply
What! No alcohal consumption!
If it's a park for kids, why woyld they say anything about Alcohal. Isn't it saying in other words that alcohal is allowed or in away that here you can come with bottle of wine.
reply
That's because a couple years ago they made it legal to consume alcohol in public parks so I guess it is restricted in this one so it is noted.
reply
Ahh, I see! Consumption of alcohal at any public place is prohibited in my country.
reply
What's happening with Cricket these days? I haven't followed any games this week.
reply
I'm surprised they have to specify that "Competitive high-level play is not allowed" in Canada. I assumed that was just implied up there.
reply
This Pacers vs Knicks first half hasn’t resembled much of a playoff game. Anyone playing D tonight?
reply
Hey, everyone is a winner in Canada. Unless you don't vote for Trudeau. In which case you are a racist, misogynistic, transphobic, xenophobe, hitler lover. Trudeau said it, so it must be true.
reply
What’s wrong with the nuggets?
reply
Full credit to the TWolves did but Nuggets did also look out of sorts in the first round against the Lakers as well.
reply
True They were not impressive against the lakers
The series could have gone 7 games if a couple buzzer beaters missed
