Howdy Cricket Lovers!!
It's high, almost scorching, in the USA dressing room. All are pumped up and raing to go fearless against mighty Pakistan. I'm enjoying their enthusiasm and would love to see them crush Pakistan. I know that it might sound weird as of now but USA are almost on the brink of writing down another everyone's favourite underdog story. What are they upto and what they can do should not be questionable now. Here's why....
USA are fast turning out to be a side you'd seek to avoid in a world event if you were a Pakistan, known to be the ultimate upset victims. Most in the USA squad are a battle-hardened T20 lot who play 60-70 quality T20 games in a calendar year. That T20 muscle memory, a higher risk tolerance palate and overall adaptability to the format had USA sail through to a historic series win against an undercooked T20 side in Bangladesh and of course the high voltage clash against Canada on Saturday.
Runners up at the last T20 World Cup, the mercurial Pakistan now appear to be a shadow of themselves in contrast to the world event in Australia. Pakistan come into the world cup enduring a rather torrid time on and off the field. A crushing 4-1 defeat in New Zealand saw the deposition of Shaheen Shah Afridi. Which was followed by an embarrassing drawn series against a beleaguered New Zealand at home. Pakistan even dropped a game against Bangladesh before getting hammered two nil at the hands of England most recently.
In a high stakes game, USA would dearly want their most celebrated player Corey Anderson to come to the party. Having last turned out for New Zealand in 2018, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf got a fair account of Anderson's ability to turn the clock back with their time together at San Francisco Unicorns at last year's MLC. The ex Kiwi enjoyed a prolific run with the bat averaging 47 with a strike rate of over 145.

Just don't be biased to your predictions in the pool. Be biased to what your heart wants .... An underdog story or an old stale piece of paper written with nothing important......???
Thank you stackers for your constant love and support for the live blog......
A comfortable Pakistan win.
They'll start slow and access the pitch & conditions then go berzerk in the end. And Pakistan pace at start and spin in the middle would be too much to handle for the US team.
Overall looking forward to an exciting game.
reply
No!!! It will go down the wire for sure. USA are not going to give up without a fight but Pakistan are chokers...
reply
You were right right right!! Hell right!!!
reply
You were absolutely right! Spot on with your prediction! What a game from USA!! 🔥🔥🔥
reply
LOL alright! There's obviously biased for obvious reasons but will see. 😂
reply
I guess I am eliminated now.
reply
I picked Pakistan to win, but I would love to be wrong! Even though Pakistan didn't get much practice time leading up to this, they've got some good batters. Also, the US bowlers gave up a lot of runs to Canada.
I won't be able to watch live though, so I must avoid spoilers!
reply
I like it. Were like minded!!!
reply
Whichever way it goes, I'm hoping it'll be a good match!
reply
Will make sure you know what's exactly happening so you won't miss anything.
reply
I have a Sling subscription, so I plan to watch the replay of the match a few hours after it finishes!
reply
Will make sure to ruin it 😂
reply
😂😂😂😂 Hmm, where's the mute button? 😉 I might have to log out for a few hours!
reply
Haha! Relax I'm not going to ruin it for you. All I would say is, USA have done well so far. All they need to do is bat as well.
reply
Good to hear, at least it sounds like it's not too lopsided. I know they're not going to win it all, but I think the better they do the better it'll be for the popularity of the sport here.

Man! You're gonna love it! Not going to tell you what happened or how but I'm sure you'll love it! 🔥
Why?? Have fun...!!
reply
Ah, I just thought of something. We might have a different interpretation of spoilers due to different languages. What I'm referring to as a spoiler is when you're going to watch something and want to be surprised by how it ends, and someone tells you the ending before you've seen it. Since I can't watch the game as it's happening, I'm going to try to avoid knowing how the match ends until I can watch it later! So for me it'll be like it's happening as I'm watching.
reply
It's just a bit of humor because I don't want spoilers on how the match is going until I can watch it later! So I'll probably stay off of this thread until after I've watched it.
reply
I've a gut feeling that it might be a spoiler for you...

It’s a tale of two quite different teams. Old school confidence meets brash upstarts. It’s cricket so we should root for the US underdog… but will Afridi find his form again… I have no idea!
reply
Afridi form! There's no form of a bowler in modern day cricket. It's a batsmen game now. Bowlers only bowl goo deliveries on special pitches made for them...
reply
I don't rate Shaheen and Haris Rauf is a headless chicken running wild lol. I know it may sound ridiculous but that's how it is.
They don't have a quality spinner either except Abrar who is also not proven at Int. Stage.
Naseem Shah is a better option.
reply
I won’t mention that next time I’m in the nets.. they’ll take my bloody head off!
reply
Who'll take your head off? LOL
reply
Nice try Fed.
Pretty much any bowler I decide to share @Coinsreporter ‘s opinion that ‘It’s a batsmen game now’ lol
reply
LOL he's right though. T20 is all about batsmen, short boundaries, dead wickets and plenty of runs, fours and sixes.

SUPER OVER!!!

My money is on US to win it from here.
reply
WTF Pakistan!! Come on.. gifting it to the US with this fielding
reply
US have been amazing! They've been excellent throughout the game! On the other hand Pakistan as usual mediocre!
reply
Fair comment. Not taking anything away from the US team.
reply
Really been impressed by the application and professionalism of the US team. Impressive. Deserve every bit of credit.

What a fantastic match!! Feel like Pakistan threw it away with 3 balls left to go to the super over. The Pakistan fielding was shocking for the super over. Need to not give away silly runs in a super over.

Match was lost, even super over when Haris the headless chicken Rauf gave away 14 runs in the final over. Should never have had happened... Cricket is a game of momentum and US had that...
reply
Didn't I say the same?
reply
It was gripping to the end
reply
I'm out but I must say I would've picked USA.

It’s getting close, do you think the USA will do it or are they going to run out of steam in the death overs?
reply
159-7. Do you think US can catch them?
reply

What's the Update:

Pakistan has slowly reached 112 in 15 overs!!!
reply
What a catch from Taylor to get rid of the dangerous Rizwan! 🔥🔥🔥
