It's the 'Ashes rivals' on show in a Saturday afternoon blockbuster with England probably entering into a must-win game against the confident Australians.
Their first match was a washout at this venue but it did give some anxious moments for Jos Buttler's men. Reduced to a 10-over affair, they allowed Scotland to smash their way to 90 for 0 and would've probably struggled to chase the revised DLS target of 109 runs.
On the other hand, Australia overcame starting hiccups as they downed Oman by 39 runs. It has been a slow start for both teams and they've both watched a slew of upsets in the other groups over the past few days. Momentum is an often used key word in sport and it certainly holds significance in a tournament as short as the T20 World Cup.

Pitch Report

The Kensington Oval has produced surfaces on the slower side and today's match is the venue's final game of the league phase. Will we see either team cracking the 200-run code?
It's hot, but there's a nice breeze blowing across the ground, at a speed of 25 kmph. 58m and 67m square boundaries, the straight hit is at 72m. A fresh pitch today, but t's very similar to the other pitches, there are cracks at both ends. The average score in the 1st innings is 143, you can add another 10-15 runs considering the teams featuring today, but this ain't a 180-190 run wicket, reckon Matthew Hayden and Nasser Hussain, in their pitch report

Strong start for Australia

Let's see if this is gonna be our first 200+ game of the World Cup

A big six on the 1st delivery of 2nd over... Australia are 9/0

2 more sixes and Australia are 25/0 in 2 overs. What a start!!

reply
It’s that short side… I can’t watch Wood bowl. I get injured just watching his delivery.
reply

Australia have put 201 on the board and England now require to bat sensibly and faster to chase it down..

reply
It’s a monster chase..
reply
I think England should chase it down..
reply
I think it will go to the last couple of overs. Positive at the moment..
reply
England require 101 runs from 8 remaining overs (48 balls). Looking difficult..
reply
A six off the last ball and 92 now in 41 balls.
Another six and 86 in 40 balls now..
Third six of the over and theh now require 78 in 36 balls. Very much chaseable
reply
All from Ali though… let’s see if Brook can do better than a frequently disappointing Bairstow
reply
It's getting tougher for England now. Hazelwood is bowling some extraordinary bowling...only 2 runs from his over..
reply
reply
143/4 Two new batters… chance for some more wickets
reply
Both are so explosive If they stay for the innings Australia will get to 220+ for sure
reply
I was thinking just 200 plus. I love watching Wade though and he’s got his pads on…
reply
I also like wade play some incredible shots.
reply
He hasn’t done much in the IPL has he? Very experienced player regardless
reply
He is experienced. You're right that he hasn't done much in IPL. But he is a big player in big bash
reply
He can really get the team going.. temper as well.
reply
Warner and Head both gone! Maxwell coming on though….
reply
I know Australias openers are both left-handed but why use Will Jacks?!? Expensive choice.
reply
I also thought the same when they introduced Jacks.
reply
Neither Butler nor Ali would have made that choice willingly would they? Too early for spin again?
reply
They made it willingly. They thought that spin would be a good choice against two left handers.
reply
And it’s worked dispatching Warner. Costly though. Bring on Rashid!!
reply
I would have put Jordan in to open. I know he’s a good death bowler but better way to start than this

South Africa vs Netherlands

SA are 22/4 in 8 overs and I can sense another upset!!
reply
Well, Australia won by 36 runs. Great pitch for bowlers and batsmen… as long as you were Australian. England are going to need some good wins to go through..
reply

Now it seems over for England!!

reply

Another wicket falls for England. It's 124/4 now. England require 78 in 35 balls.

reply

There are two new batters I the middle as Will Jacks goes down. Englad are 3 down now. Still need more than 100.

reply

Englad are 93/2 after 10 overs. This game is definitely going down the wire.

reply
Starcs first ball may have cost 4-runs but it showed some swing….
reply
So England need 202 runs to win. No idea if its possible…
reply
Aussies meant business from the start, didn't mess about things that's what I love about them. Always on the front foot..
reply
Will Australia be the first team to break 200 in an innings as @Coinsreporter predicted?
reply
Broken..
reply
Lol. I was thinking 205 tops.
reply

Wicket no. 3 as Marsh falls of Livingston. A very good over for England!!

reply

Australia are 136/2 after 13 overs. They are heading towards 200+

reply

Australia are 102/2 after 10 overs of their innings.

reply

Australia are going to play the same way... They will aim to in excess of 200.

reply

Now, now! Australia are two down suddenly. Both warner and Head depart in consecutive overs.

reply

Another 22 runs over! 3 sixes and a four. All from warny. Australia is dominating.
