They are finally splitting up the Splash Brothers, in a last ditch effort to get pieces around Steph, and maybe try to win with Steph before his window officially closes. Or get picks to rebuild. Either way, the Warriors are breaking up their current core. I think the original report was from Shams. A quick search and there are multiple articles about this news. This is one of them.
According to Shams, the front running teams that will likely sign Klay are the Mavs, Lakers, and Clippers. Which team do you think will end up signing Klay? Which team is the best fit? Either way, this is definitely end of an era; well, maybe it will be end of an era when Klay actually gets traded.
I think this will be a very interesting opening of free agency.
How funny would it be if LeBron went somewhere else?
reply
Nah. His son is there now. LeBron is not going anywhere.

It will be odd to see Klay in another uniform. He could be a difference maker from 3 for Dallas. They went through stretches in the finals where no one except Luka could hit a shot. You have Klay out there splashing 3s and you might not be able to double Luka so aggressively.

It is weird to see him in another uniform. If Klay can rebound from his slump and start hitting some shots again, he will make any team that signs him dangerous. But if the 0 points on 30+ minutes played in the play-in game last season becomes the norm, it will probably mark the beginning of the end of Klay's career.

I think if he can stay healthy he will have a bounce back year.

Contract extension talks between Thompson and the Warriors have stalled, and the organization is reportedly preparing for the possibility of losing him in free agency.
