I think at this point it's inevitable. The lack of imagination is combined with the lack of courage to take the risks that come with launching a new story.

I didn't like Rob Zombie's Halloween remake, and I don't know if Krueger needs an origin story (which was already told in the movies). Maybe it's better to tell new stories. Meanwhile, they will continue to stretch the nostalgia of the old horror heroes. (Although I would like a reboot of Friday the 13th)
