Howdy Stackers!!
As they say 'nothing is perfect in the world.' While something may seem to be perfect or perfectly going, there's always some scope for improvements. SN is considerably quite young but seems so perfect!
So, why not, tell SN, what improvements would you like to see on Stackers News?

I'm eager for cross-posting between territories to be developed. It's a little trickier to get the incentives dialed in than one might expect.

hmmmm, so paying double / triple fee?

@k00b imo
  • Remove the ability to hide stacked amount.
  • greater weight to large downzaps.

Remove the ability to hide stacked amount.
why?
reply
It's a form of reputation. IMO more informative than number of posts/comments.
OR Replace it with a metric similar to karma in reddit (e.g. sats stacked - sats spent)
reply
Oh Maybe downzaps could count against the karma score too.

I like Stacker News as it is. I would love for an increase in the body font size. I find it too small.

What about having sub-territories? This is the most significant improvement that SN needs now!!
reply
definitely. the number of territories is getting out of control.

Let's have higher prize pool for Leaderboard! Donate more or zap big or zap often!
Fees should be equivalent to Donation which is at least 100k

Better search. I haven't tested it recently, but if I want to do a serious search I have to always use a Google search, with a site keyword.

Can you give an example of the things you've searched for that didn't give you the results you wanted?
reply
Don't have anything right now off the top of my head, it's just the last time I did extensive searching (a month at least) I didn't find what I needed with stacker.news search.
Next time I don't find what I'm looking for in search, I will post it.

I believe if you are paying monthly for a territory, at least a portion of that should be applied towards a lifetime purchase.
reply
Hehe, i would second this ;)
And most territory owners i guess too. I also understand why not of course, but still...
Knowing that those 100k sats will likely be much more valuable in few years time, i maybe should commit earlier than later to lifetime subscription...

Stacker News should implement a cap on total active users. 2.1M?
Not joking, actually serious. The death knell to all social media networks is when they grow too large, as the size attracts all sorts of mischief to farm opinion.
I honestly think SN should have a limit of max active users....and new users need to be on waiting list and let old unused accounts expire before they can join.

When I was a child and loved video games I always wanted ‘better graphics’. I clearly haven’t grown up as I’d love to see a prettier UI for SN.

A sort of lottery that incentives donations to the daily rewards Pool, thereby increasing donations and thus, overall rewards.

Tags to territories. It's great to have ~sport territory, but what about all variety of sports eg tennis, football, triathlon, etc If we had tags they would work as subreddits subterritories
reply
Technically I think everything is looking really good! It would be nice if we can get a broader amount of people from other redditor/forum type platforms.

Hustle would like to see his posting improve. At this point, the platform has done enough.

I like the sharing of links. And I feel that there should be a mandatory category in which the Stacker is compelled to write down his takeaways from the article. I’m interested to know what my fellow Stacker thinks, not just the provision of news

I would like to see removing the leader board.
