There's no limit and there won't be one but we load all replies that are not too deeply nested at once. Therefore, this post inspired us to also add the common more button to comments now since it might be the reason why we have latency spikes while the db is fetching all 472 comments in this post.

So congratulations @ken, you indeed might broke SN to some degree haha

I think the way to win this is by not replying to the top item but deeply nested in some thread. Then nobody will see that you replied after them so they might think they won and will stop replying.

At least I wish that was true.
