Despite recent missile and drone attacks by Hezbollah, U.S.-led ceasefire negotiations in Gaza are moving forward with renewed vigor. According to John Kirby, the U.S. National Security Council's Communications Director, discussions in Cairo remain "constructive" and are now being handled by lower-level working groups to iron out critical details. This shift suggests that negotiations have advanced enough that top-level mediators are no longer required on-site.
Reports of a deadlock in Cairo were countered by U.S. officials who emphasized that the dialogue is progressing towards more specific agreements. Though the Israeli delegation and key figures like Qatar's Emir and Hamas representatives have temporarily left Cairo, the talks are set to continue in the coming days.
The United States, along with Qatar and Egypt, is determined to broker a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, aiming to bring an end to the escalating conflict in the region.

I certainly hope this is true, but until something is implemented I'm going to just see this as part of Kamala's presidential campaign.

Ceasefire is doublespeak for hudna, which is exactly what Hamas wants and needs to regroup and resume their terrorism at some future point. In the words of Kissinger, America wants Israel to continue to bleed. A weakened Israel is good for the American empire.
