TIL that Incubus‘s 2001 album Morning View was recorded in a mansion in Malibu, California, overlooking the ocean. The band chose this serene location to inspire the music’s more laid-back and reflective vibe compared to their earlier, more aggressive albums. The house itself became almost a sixth member of the band, influencing the sound and creative process during the recording.

Everyday a school day as they say, always learning. I had no idea! How cool, thanks for sharing that fact. They have such a distinguishable sound. Awesome band.
