I mentioned this at the end of last season: MVP voters don't like feeling stupid for picking a guy who flames out in the playoffs and nobody worries about that with Mahomes.
I do think someone else could run away with it, but if it's close at all then I expect Mahomes to get it.
They're not giving it to Lamar again, there's still skepticism about some of the younger QB's, and the other established guys are on dodgy looking teams.
If the 49ers are back on track, I think Purdy does have a great shot. He looked so good on Thursday, at least early in the game.
His numbers are bad, yes they're 5-0 but he's playing terrible (in comparison to what we are uses to) it's not MVP level.
If he gets any votes based on current performance then it's legacy voting and not a true representation of current play.
There's only 1 MVP and his name is Justin Jefferson. Baaaarrroooooo. But seriously jets is elite, and absolutely deserves to be in the MVP conversation.
It really is a QB award. And that's rediculous. The votings broken and the positional chances are rigged in favour of QBs. The MVP has as much weight as madden ratings these days π€£π€£
