There are a bunch of ways clients might handle their Web of Trust (WoT), and I guess the simplest / straightforward one is:
if you set up your WoT at 0, then it would show only posts from people who haven't had any of the people you follow mute them.
If it's set at 1 or 2, it would show posts from people you have been followed by at least 1 or 2 people you follow.
If it's set at -1 or -2 then it would show posts from people that have been muted by 1 or 2 of the people you follow.
Gist: You don't see posts from behind the number you set.
Even though it's the basic/simplest version of WoT, it still might be confusing to people or hard to grasp, so I thought I'd quickly make an interactive visualizer for it.
Hope it helps in understanding it! (this is basically the same of what's on coracle.social) : https://freakoverse.github.io/wotonnostr/
There's also the steps function, meaning 'also show me posts from people they follow'. Example: I've set my WoT to 1 with step 0, User-A (whom I follow, and I see their posts) is following User-B (whom I don't follow, and I see their) who is following User-C (whom I nor User-A is following, and I don't see their posts).
If I've changed the step to 1, then I can also see User-C's posts.
I think I'll add that to the visualizer too.

Updated it to include this visualization

are you basically merging coracle WoT with iris graph?

i guess so. just a nice helping visualizer to help myself and others understand WoT / this version of it at least.
(side it doesn't seem like you can change the steps in iris?)

I think the heavy version is only one grade. I think David has already calculated everything https://brainstorm.ninja/#/grapevine/
