What a crazy good value! And Soo small. But the upgrades are insanely expensive. Great business strategy. Make something amazing and cheap to get into to... more subscribers.. Charge a lot more when you can for things that should be cheap. Make it completely unrepairable. Genius or evil? What do you think about this strategy that is sooo Apple?

Amazing tech, bought it to run the main instance of kibō on it

A better, FOSS, Bitcoin-only, self-hostable Glassnode previously named Satonomics

Sounds cool. I don't know what glassnode is. It looks slick..is it for charting?

Oh my bad, I should definitely make it clearer what it is then
It's basically a tool to visualize a ton of data overtime from a bitcoin core node
You can see the famous hold wave, the number of addresses, which type are the most common, addresses by size, supply by age, sum of daily blocks, a lot of very interesting things and I've built it because Glassnode charges up to 833$/month for that and I strongly believe that this kind of data should be completely free for the good of the network

Not your bad at all. Most people here probably know what it is. That sounds like an incredibly useful and important tool in Bitcoin. Is there anyone else doing this? How do you get funding?

Many try but they have no where near as many charts as kibō or glassnode have and/or aren't updated very often, even when with the paid version, whereas kibō is updated after every single block with only a 50 to 100 second delay and once again completely free even the API, no account no auth nothing
For now, I don't really have funding still trying to find sponsors or something, I'll hope to find a sustainable path otherwise I'll have to stop and I've been working on this full time for a year now so that'd be a shame

Couldn’t you make it pay-to-chart using the LN? You can then pass on compute cost to the user. Probs a lot harder to actually do than say I realise.

What are the main challenges of scaling something like that? Your just doing it on your own right now? If you are legit, I bet you will get some support on stacker..keep making posts and sharing your value. Stackers can be generous for good projects.

It is definitely a value relative to their other products.

I think it's a great value in relation to anything. What else has that compute in that form factor for $600?

That's true I agree. I see they are starting a datacenter using their M4's also. Pretty groundbreaking technology.

Pretty wild times to be alive. Where is it all headed? As far as big tech companies go, I actually like Apple more than most. They are more straight forward I feel. And I just prefer android for my personal phones.
