This is my 4th BTC bull market, it is hard not to get excited and celebrate what is going on each time, especially after long winters and accumulating times.
Each time my excitement with the bull market is smaller and smaller, I believe now it is just something I take it for granted, and know that if the world won’t end, BTC price will go up forever and the swings and dips will be inevitable, but it won’t mess around with my emotions, making me greedy or fearful.
With this week’s moves, if I were to realize gains, I could pocket a full year net salary and still have BTC as my biggest position in my portfolio, which 5 years ago would sound completely nuts, since I’d never let any asset be more than 10% of it.
I am not wealthy, far from reaching my first million, but on the way. But the excitement of watching the growth of the digits on my portfolio have not been the same, I feel like this is peace of mind that I am going on the right direction, but also feel somewhat down that this does not excite me as it used to. Anyone else feeling similar?

i react similarly to the word "portfolio" as darthcoin reacts to the word "passport," even though the port- and -port have different roots in these words. #154873

I am curious, I read the post, but did not understand your view.

why have various "positions" rather than one that works very well for the purpose of money?
furthermore, there are many types of papers that can go into a portafoglio (thing to carry papers in) - notes, letters, art, notices, affidavits, receipts, calculations, accounts, fiat memorabilia like Zimbabwe bank reserve notes.

https://www.etymonline.com/word/savage 'Late Latin salvaticus, alteration (vowel assimilation) of silvaticus "wild, woodland," literally "of the woods," from silva "forest, grove."'
when looking up words, i focus on the earliest known meaning of the word, and sometimes follow its evolution to the modern interpretation of the word, but not always.
our psyche has been conditioned to consider people who live in harmony with outdoors (as opposed to domesticated by cities' authorities) as brutal barbarians, and yet these people often tend to be extremely smart and sharp, since they have a lot of time to to think, study, and practice various skills.
i would say that is an accurate description for the darthman, but not in the modern sense of the word =)

I forgot to say, I am not selling.

Ultimately, if you think of bitcoin as money, which is what I do then it isn't exactly selling. It is just spending your money. So you can spend the money on whatever a human may need. Like a house or a banana or a car or a vacation.
But ultimately money is just a man-made abstraction that we use to trade for things with actual value (food, shelter, etc...) during our short time on this planet.

Spending money is selling money for goods and services -- no different than selling btc for usd and then spending the usd.
