Looks like the fight is going to be on Netflix (Nov. 15 at 8:00 p.m. ET.) I assume it was traditional pay-per-view and had put the fight out of my mind because I was unlikely to pay for the fight.
Heads up in case anyone else had the same preconceived notion as I did.

The promotional series they put out is pretty great too!
I've got Tyson winning, but if he underestimated Paul in training, that might not work out.

I'd honestly be surprised if Tyson won. Paul's been in amazing shape, and while I can (and do) snark at a lot of Paul Brother antics, neither of them are half-assed in anything they do. Tyson's already had to postpone once because of his health.
If anything, I'd say Paul underestimating Tyson (who's still probably the harder puncher) would be the big thing to look out for.

People seem very excited for this fight, and I can see why. But does anyone else feel like this is a step down for our society? Like a new step in the "bread and circuses" direction?
Sorry if anyone feels judged by that, it is not my intention to judge, but I personally just feel a bit turned off by it, while simultaneously understanding the intrigue.

I feel like Celebrity Boxing from 20+ years ago was way past this on the bread and circuses front. This at least feels like a match between real boxers (even if one's past his prime). If I complain about Tyson boxing, I'd also have to complain about all the folks past their prime the Jets keep starting at QB.

If Tyson can sneak a big punch or two in it could be game over, but Paul probably has better endurance.

Bookmaker favourite is Paul.

So is this a real live fight or pre-recorded? or just a series about an upcoming fight in the future?
reply
Real fight (live) is tomorrow.
Netflix has done some behind the scenes videos about their prep leading up to the fight.
I think you and k00b should do a little boxing tomorrow during SNL.

Mike Tyson may be "old" but he doesn't look or move like an old man. Let us not forget about old man strength. Mentally, Jake Paul is still a boy. He seems afraid of Mike to me. Tyson looks so focused. Personally, my 28 hear old ass would have gotten kicked by who I will be when I am 60. It's all about will and focus. Mike is still Mike. 🤷‍♂️

So it’s in std Netflix but live? Is that a first for Netflix

Jake Paul has become a good boxer. He isn’t a great boxer though. He lost to the only real boxer he faced. All other fights were washed up MMA guys who can obviously box but aren’t specialists.
For Paul to win I think he needs to take the fight deep. Tyson is old but still in great shape and I think in a short fight will both out box and out punch Paul but once it goes past a few rounds I think Paul has the advantage due to youth and conditioning.
Hoping for a good fight, not a sideshow that ends up diminishing Tyson’s legacy.

I didn't know it was on Netflix, too. It will be 2:00 AM in Italy, not a comfortable time but the idea to watch it is strong. Even if I'm a little bit sorry it could be a sad show 😣

I would like Tyson to knock him out, but I don't believe it. For me there is only one possibility for Tyson to win -- a knockout at the end of the second round. Tyson is 58 years old fighting someone much younger, and full of steroids
